Christmas Gaming 2019

Recommended Posts

Right on the cutting edge here with Batman Arkham City on the pc.  Never did get round to playing it back in the day so figured now's a good a time as any.  Was hoping to get Rise Of the Tomb Raider a bit cheaper, but the demo put me right off.

Currently battering through Dragon's Dogma which I've bought three times now but failed to get properly into at all until the switch version so hoping to put some decent time into that.

I've got my daughter Yoshi's Crafted World and Kirby Star Allies for Christmas because she loved the demos of both, and we have a (very rare) whole day just to the two of us on the 30th. She's already asked if we can play games all day, so I'm looking forward to her reaction when she opens them :)

Hopefully be able to put some serious time into Judgment.

Only played an hour so far due to being busy at work / normal life.

I'm off now until 6th January with a couple of days for myself even with all the Christmas shenanigans.

Going to play Horizon Zero Dawn finally. Should play OOT really

Actually, I might have another romp around the H:ZD expansion; that's a great landscape for XMas gaming in!

Finished Gris this evening, what a fantastic game. Also picked up Lumines and Sayonara Wild Hearts in the Switch sale to keep me occupied if things get a bit dull at the in-laws (and of course I've always got Slay the Spire in emergencies, 145 hours played and counting).

Normally someone gets me a game for Christmas, so probably that will be one (or maybe two if Santa thinks I've been good) of Luigi's Mansion 3, Sekiro and the Outer Worlds to keep me going till new year.

Finishing The Fate of Atlantis DLC and last Lost Tales of Greece in AC Odyssey and then going back to Cold Steel 3. The Atlantis DLC is a lot longer than I was expecting, it took me 10 hours to complete Chapter 1 when I was only expecting to be 3 or 4 hours.

Picked up Death Stranding cheap yesterday so will be playing that along with Yakuza Kiwami in the evenings. The lad is getting Pokemon Sword so will probably have a go on that too, never really been into Pokemon but going to give it a try.

Christmas gaming is Switch gaming. Currently alternating between:

Luigi's Mansion 3 - how on earth do they make games look this stunning.

Lumines Remastered - never played this before so I'm pretty terrible at it but I'm feeling pretty hooked already.

Rogue Legacy - I'd heard good things about this and it was about £3 in the sale. After an hour it seems the hardest game I've ever played! Quite like it though. The grind is strong with this one.

And if that doesn't keep me busy, more Slay the Spire.

Going to have another stab at Witcher III. I keep picking it up when I'm at the end of some other giant open world RPG  and I lose interest quickly in favour of some action - Fallout 4 and Dragon's Dogma are the main culprits I can think of. If it still doesn't take, I have God of War, Spiderman and Titanfall II to look at

Not a soul is cracking out Christmas Nights then...

Would have but the PS3 is boxed up now and the Saturn is but a memory. It needs a PS4 re-release.

Currently replaying Jedi Fallen Order, may replay Control. Otherwise It's likely Untitled Goose Game (yet to play) or something else I get over xmas (possibly the rllmuk secret santa steam one).

I never knew the 360 version had an unlock able Christmas Nights. I know what I’m doing for next three nights.

Going to try and platinum Shenmue III on PS4 in between sessions of Xmas Nights and Fighters Megamix on the Saturn. If the puppy behaves I'd love to get the VR back out and play through Astro Bot again.

I’m gonna get me a Santa hat in Death Stranding  then Mario Kart with the kids, and then it will be Jackbox Party for when the in-laws come round.
