Treadstone - Bourne free TV spin off

Recommended Posts

This is on now (or starts imminently) on the USA Network (home of Mr Robot & Suits no less)

On the basis of very limited information I'm interested in this but more in hope than expectation, the trailer in the first link looks like a Bourne tribute band doing some greatest hits.

Won't be shown in UK til new year on Amazon Prime though

I don’t think Treadstone is that instantly recognisable. Took me half way through your first post to figure out this isn’t Jason Voorhees thing.

Also, 'Bourne-Free' would be a great thread title.

What does "Jason free TV spin off" mean?

It's a TV spin-off of the Bourne movies, but without Jason Bourne.

Surely the world of Treadstone isn't actually that exciting without Bourne.

Im expecting a generic moody spy with bad men as good men slog.

I'm watching this on Prime, so...

Spoiler

it starts in 1973 with apparently the same guy in the present.... But wouldn't he be 60 years old? I'm so confused.

Spoiler

There's no same guy in the present. They do however keep casting men so generic I mistake them all for each other. There's a reason they have to keep putting their names onscreen when they change storyline.

I started watching this at the weekend and am enjoying it so far, rewatched the first few episodes with my other half then us with a friend and both of them couldn't tell the difference between some of the story critical male characters, thinking they were the same person too!

It really is ridiculous.

Spoiler

There's the CIA guy in the 70s, the oil rig guy in the present, and the victim in the indian/nepal market. All of whom I struggle to differentiate.

I’ve just watched the first ep and thought it was ok/fairly good. Will watch a few more and see where it goes.

I definitely did not expect to see Keri Godliman with a thoroughly unconvincing American accent though!

Just got round to watching the first couple last night and we really enjoyed it, it did a better job than I expected of mimicking the look/feel of the films and the story threads were all interesting.
