Bear in mind that Analogue take payment upfront.

You pay import VAT to the courier, and they usually contact you just prior to delivery to take the payment. Occasionally they'll deliver and then contact you for payment. Both DHL and Fedex will add an admin charge (e.g. £12) for having already paid the VAT to HMRC when the goods entered the UK, but I've been successful  in getting Fedex to waive that.

I ended up putting in an order, it's down for sometime this year so not sure what the wait time is at the moment but I have some time to worry about the VAT / admin charge :) I do have it to hand when needed though. It's going to be just shy of £60 I think, quite excited for this as I have been picking up the odd gameboy game the past year so have a few I'd love to play again, I may start with Golden Sun first!

I have one of these in the basket, Ive just read this entire thread and now wish I could get one NOW! Ohh well, I guess it means i would have time to find all my GB/GBC/GBA carts or at least rebut them all…..

With the updates, cores etc - is there any reason I couldn’t do all this on my iPad with a std card reader thing? It looks like you just drag and drop files onto a card but does it require a windows pc to do any of this?

I use my mac. To update I had to drag and drop a file onto the root of the SD card. No idea if it's been done from a ipad before, but should work.

For the cores, etc there's a lot of apps that automate finding bios's and the like. I have one for the mac and it's ace, with a beautiful front end, so would be a lot fiddlier if you want to get all your FPGA cores etc by hand. But not impossible.

It'll take at least 6 months, if not a year, but you pay at pre-order. I assume (but don't know) that claiming back the cash if you cancel is straightforward, so if you've the cash maybe put an order down whilst you decide.

I have to be clear though, I've also got a Miyoo Mini, and whilst this is a brilliant device, it's very much 'I've bought a 200 grand coffee machine for the diminishing returns I crave' equivalent purchase.

Also, I love it.

The Miyoo mini is what I started to try to buy a while back but never got, then the + came out and tried to get that with no joy so started looking at other options and just kept coming back to this, after getting the NT I love playing off the original carts  so think this is the way to go for me.

I never recovered form having a Doctor64 back in the day, too much choice man - I have the same issue on Xbox with gamepass!

I do have a couple of old Mac’s I could use so would be interested in the app too!
