I know I'm a little late in offering this, but I will be in the US 1st week of December and could have this delivered to my hotel (or a friend's house in the US) and bring it back with me.  If a few folks want them, it might be a worthwhile endeavour to save multiple $60 postage fees.   Let me know if you're interested.

This is very generous but I don't think I need adapters badly enough to put you out while you're away. Thanks for the offer though.

No worries.  I am travelling for work so it isn't like it would disrupt a holiday or anything.  Let me know if you change your mind.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm one of *those* guys that likes playing on traditional hardware, but... wowzers, I'm loving my Analogue Pocket. I can't see myself playing on my original GB now (or even my modded backlit GBA) because the ability to save my game at any time is just marvellous. I've progressed further in Fortress of Fear than I EVER did in my youth ha ha!

All I am using mine for currently is to play Chrono Trigger via the SNES emulator, it looks fucking awesome, and leaving it my house so I can only play a couple of times a week is really nice to make the game last a good while longer than it usually would.

The machine is just fantastic though, my favourite handheld besides the Switch :)

not long at all, and the shipping is only 2 days

I got a shipping notification today, and it said it wouldn't arrive for a week. If it comes for Friday, I'll be over the moon.

Considering I almost cancelled this, I'm beyond excited now. The miyoo mini has completely changed my relationship with the handhelds.  Cannot wait. Christmas will be all about this.

My black Pocket arrived a week ago (ordered a year ago) along with the clear case, dock and screen protector. I applied the screen protector and almost immediately took it off and threw it in the bin. What a waste, but the glass on the pocket already stands proud and with the protector on it looked bad. I look after my gadgets so I'm not worried- my Waterfield pouch for this thing arrived months ago.

I love this console. I have a pretty good collection of GB, GBA and GBC carts and have already completed Warioland, Warioland 2 and have soldered a new battery into my Warioland 3 and started that. It looks great on this large bright screen screen.

The buttons feel good, the screen is wonderful, I haven't knocked a cartridge out of the back, it sounds good too. My only minor gripes would be that docking the pocket needs a bit of attention, it doesn't self locate very well in the slot. Also the front half of the shell overhangs the back with a fairly harsh edge but you don't notice when playing it. The green light on the dock pulses even when the Pocket is fully charged, but never mind. I'm not using the US power supply it came with so maybe that's why.

In the dock I paired it with a switch pro controller and the home button acts perfectly as the Analogue button, which is pleasing.

However the absolute standout feature for me is the save state feature. It lets me save scum bosses and tricky platform sections like the time poor middle aged dad that I am. I know emulators let you do this but I like playing the carts I bought years ago on a handheld system and this is just so cool to me.

For GB I have been using the Analogue GB greyscale setting mostly, it's too clear not to but for GBC I love the retro screen appearance, the Analogue GBC setting seems too saturated to my eyes.

The FPGA cores seem to work well, I quickly tried the SNES one and it works great, so I'll come back to that in due course.

I have done a bunch of Gameboy mods including Slate GB, Boxy pixel DMG, GBA IPS etc etc but this thing is so good looking and with key features that it's already my go-to Gameboy.

Highly recommended!

Despite having some misgivings about Analogue's ability to pull it off, I'm really pleased with mine. There are some small niggles but if Analogue can actually commit to updating the firmware more than once a year it's potentially going to be a very special system for me. (And they got the d-pad right, which I'm usually fussy about!)

I should have mentioned that I assembled a mister system a little while ago, but I think it's just a little too enthusiast for me to keep up with. I love handhelds, and this Pocket is very easy to use and with the dock you can do a bunch of home consoles on a big screen already.

Another cool thing sorry, there is an FPGA core for super Gameboy so I've been checking out my SGB cartridges in that, it's cool playing Donkey Kong 94 in lovely colours!

I have it the other way around- update_all does all the work for me on MiSTer, while the Pocket cores have been a bit fiddly. Nothing really difficult though, just a couple of extra steps.

That's music to my ears @outspaced - mine has made it half way across america. I'm checking the fedex update almost hourly....

How do you actually find out your tracking number when the thing is shipped? I can't seem to view my order on the analogue store at all. Its f*cking weird.

Got to agree. You can mess about to your hearts content with the MiSTer if you want to, but if not then all you've got to do is run the Update All script now and again and you'll have a fully up to date system with literally no effort.

I've found my Analogue Pocket to be more of a faff and definitely much less 'finished'. My main interest in it is playing original Game Boy games and so I'm using my Ever Drive so that I can use the proper screen filter.

I couldn’t either but I had linked it to an app called ‘shop’ or something. They sent another email when it shipped with further details but it was a good three weeks after the email telling me it was preparing.

Tbh it's probably my mister's lack of a permanent desk spot, or maybe it's the huge range of choice it offers. I ran one of the Pocket community's core update programs and that was really easy too.
