Good game, the better team won. Bengals run defence kept them in it right though but when they started to falter with the penalties.

Burrow needs to learn to let the ball fly rather than taking sacks, would have saved them so many lost yards, I’m sure he’ll be back.

His porous O-line cost them the match. Some game though, nail biting to the end.

I was supporting the Bengals but the better side did win (not least because the Cincinnati TD really should have been called back for facemasking).

Better game than I was expecting, very enjoyable. There was a really dubious holding call on Bengals #55 in the 4th just by the line, which gave the Rams a big boost. I know there was a call missed on  Bengals TD, face mask on Ramsey, but doesn't make it right. Barely any pens all game, which is what we want then a flurry right at the end.

Bengals look good for the future, Burrow staying g in after that horrible knee injury was gutsy as was Staffords whole game.

Still a good end to the season, now on to the free agency and draft periods!

This is the first season I've really watched and it's been great. Lots of really dramatic games going right down to the wire and into overtime. The only thing that I'm not fully sure about is all of these marginal officiating calls really massively swinging games, and it happened again yesterday. The face mask pull leading to the TD was super dirty and then that weird holding call on 3rd and goal with 2 mins to go. According to commentary they had been letting those go all game, so why suddenly start calling them right at the death? Kind of left with a nagging, empty feeling that that was not quite fair, although the better side did win.

Must admit there was a large portion of me who wanted a Bengals win - at least that way, Paul Brown would have a Super Bowl to one of the two teams he created (no chance we will be giving him one).

Plus, OBJ kinda just sulked his way out the door on us having put in basically no effort whilst out there. Donald, Kupp, Stafford I’m pleased for. OBJ, not so much.

(Should add that I’m obviously not happy he got hurt, mind).

Damn, I missed that news, trading away the greatest quarterback in franchise history, still reports saying he didn’t want to be there and I’ve had a feeling for a couple of seasons that he’s taking up too much of our cap, and tbh hasn’t played that well for a couple of seasons now (plus injury..)

Hopefully we can draft another franchise QB on the cheap and build up a winning team, appreciating this is easier said than done!

With Bobby Wagner being given a release it appears to be a full rebuild on the cards. End of an era. If it wasn't for a terrible goalline call the Seahawks could have been two-time champions.

EDIT: For the level of QB he is, he's actually on a pretty good contract for Denver too. $24M cap hit next year. Possible he restructures but Denver aren't mortgaging everything for him.

There's reports of him not being accountable, being a bad leader and refusing to be coached when he was in Philly and his abrasive personality in Indy which lead to Irsay wanting him out ASAP.

Obviously you can never be sure about these kind of reports but smoke and fire and all that.

Couple of quotes from a recent Athletic article:

"Truth be told, some inside the Indianapolis Colts’ West 56th Street facility were finished with the Carson Wentz experiment long before the team’s late-season collapse, according to several recent conversations with sources inside the organization.

"As for the Colts, the issues with Wentz stretched back to before the season began, one source said, and over the course of the year, some grew frustrated at what they deemed a lack of leadership, a resistance to hard coaching and a reckless style of play, which had a role in several close losses this year."

Reported yesterday that Frank Reich also personally apologised to the front office for vouching for him - which should speak volumes.

Yeah, and that Irsay refused Wentz's request for a 1 to 1 with him. I find that poor leadership from Irsay myself but it does lend the stories some authenticity if true.

We lost to the Jags in a win-and-in game. Wentz had to go.

Had arguably his worst game of the season, too.

Seen a lot online about how his stats weren't that bad. 27/7 TD-INT. That looks good. However if you watched any of the games (and I did) he'd throw at least two or three possible INTs a game. He just got lucky.
