That Bengals performance was superb. Thought they might come to regret the blown pick at the start of OT. That regret lasted all of 30 seconds!

Not fussed about the Rams either way, so hope the Bengals complete what would be a staggering fairytale.

Great game from both conference finals.

Man, who'd have thunk the Bengals would get to the Superbowl? Not me that's for sure. The way they came back against KC was brilliant, I thought they were cooked at half-time. Burrow has been an utter gem so far.

Gutted the 49ers lost, they played well as did LA, but bloody hell what a shit way to give it away. There was still plenty time to work up field, but credit to Rams defence. Cooper Kupp is a phenomenon, such great route running. He, Tyreek Hill, Devante adams and Deebo Samuel are the 4 most complete wideouts in the league. Chase is just behind and with time can be as good as them.

One thing though, there was at least twice in the 4th quarter itself that the Rams should have been called for delay of game but weren't and it mattered.

9 sacks plus however many knockdowns from Tennessee doesn't bode well at all.

For all it’s complicated tactics and superstar offensive players, most NFL games are won in the trenches and there is where the Rams should dominate the Bengals, but Burrow is a pretty special player and I expect he won’t be asked to perform to many plays where he just drops back and attempt to pass the ball.

Yeah that's quite likely, they have two good runners. Perineum who was a total bust in Seattle seems to have found some consistency.

Brady's officially hung them up:

I was as bored of endless Patriots domination as everyone, but the more you think about it, the more that prolonged success was utterly remarkable given how the NFL works. Likewise, to then go to the Bucs and do what's he's done there is pretty amazing. Quite possibly the finest QB of them all.

I don't think there's a quite possibly in it. After Atlanta and going to the Bucs and winning there, playing at the highest level until he was 45 (leading the league in most passing stats), it's not up for debate, for me. He's the best there's ever been.

Winning 6 of 9 Superbowls ain't going to be beaten anytime soon, probably not in our lifetimes.

Best I have ever seen. There was and still is some amazing QB's but he had a crazy habit of doing it when you needed something special or against the odds.

Isn’t any other QB you’d want when needing a touchdown in the 4th with 2:00 on the clock.

Wonder what his next move will be? Can’t quite see him as a pundit and certainly not a coach. Guess he’ll do the talk show circuit for a bit and field questions about retirement until he decides.

Brian Flores has launched a lawsuit against the league and others for racist hiring policies following his firing from Miami.

Josh McDaniels going to Raiders could be interesting, been while since the Denver job which wasn't very succesful. At least Raiders have Carr at QB.

Jesus, that's grim from the Dolphins. It's horrible to say but Flores revealing that sort of thing, rather than the lawsuit, might limit his future employment opportunities in the league.

If you listen to Bruce Arians talk about Byron Leftwich and how he does the whole offence, he must be shoe-in for a good HC job.

Gotta give mad props to Flores for what he's doing. He chosen to ostracise himself Kap-style for the greater good and even with the money he will have made at Miami that takes awesome balls. I hope its not swept under the carpet.

In less important new Washington, as expected become the Commanders. Such a nothing name and to make thing worse the new unis are utter garbage. Dan Snyder continues to run the franchise in to the astroturf. Can't wait to see even fewer home fans in the wreck of a stadium that is FedEx next season. I also wish I had it in me to swap teams but I just don't, more fool me.

In Brady news, the list of records he owns is just ridiculous. I would usually balk at such hagiography (possibly not the correct word) but the is something mesmerising about seeing everything he's done. Not even the obvious stuff but things like he was the youngest (at the time) and oldest QB to win a Superbowl, more and more stats keep dripping out and it's fascinating to see.

My particular favourite is he is 2nd all time in receiving yards when over 40 years old. OK he only has 6, a cool 2163 yards behind leader Jerry Rice but it's still great. If you're wondering Brett Favre is third on that list with -2 yards.

I went to a Jets/Giants game once, many years ago. I know the Americans do the whole tailgating whole-day event thing, but as random tourists that wasn't readily available to us, so we just went to the game. It's all a bit far away and hard to read for me, to be honest. And (I think this was because it was a local derby) the bar was closed.

I think I prefer watching NFL on a TV, with the replays and slow motion and commentary/explanation that you obviously get alongside it, to be honest. I had a much better time when we went to New York so we could watch the Patriots/Eagles Superbowl in a sports bar live, in the US etc. That was a fucking great time.

Daniel Jones is 4-1 against Washington and 8-24 against the rest of the league. And he shouldn’t have lost that 1 as it was a very lucky last minute win.

I went to a jags/titans game in Jacksonville in 2010. It was crazy. B2 bomber flyover and a guy screaming “Jag-fucking-warrs yeaaaaah” down my ear while we were both having a piss.

Lots of fun and booze around the stadium and police who refused to help some forrins get home after they closed the main road back to the expressway.
