It’s go big or go home week for my bets. I put about 15 quid on in total this week.

I think skybet is fucked up. It’s not been displaying the score properly….

I’m taking full advantage of their ridicules cash-outs

Does anyone know if there's a free way to watch college football in the UK? Or if it's on NFL Game Pass (I haven't found it on there).

The legit way is through ESPN which is part of the BT Sports package.

Non legit ways I dunno, as OnionNon says the odd full game will pop up on YouTube before being taken down. I've lost track of Kodi and all that so don't know if its still there.

Big problem for the Lions this year is that they're tanking for a draft in which there are absolutely zero exciting QB prospects. That said, it's pretty apparent Goff isn't the problem so he might be a solid enough QB to build something around with some good picks next year.

Based on the last few weeks I've got a really horrible feeling the Cowboys are going to behave as though Garrett is still the head coach and do their best to squander a great first half of the season, ending with a .500 record and losing their playoff game.

Been a crazy couple of weeks hasn’t it?

The offence hasn’t consistently delivered on the promise and they look to be being bullied a bit easily. On paper we have such a strong offence but there’s  no real patience with the run game and the pass game suddenly looks very limited. We had a great thing going with screen plays and quick flats but now seem to throw the odd bomb (mostly inaccurately) and be left hoping to convert telegraphed passes on third down. Just a few weeks ago we treated fourth down as a weapon.

But… I’ve been listening to a few podcasts which have reassured me somewhat. We’ve got plenty of key talent out. We need to get them back, cut out the insane penalty count and get the running game going again. If we are back at something like a full strength team and still lose to the Saints then I think we really need to start worrying.

It's been a crazy season, I thought that after a few season watching the NFL I had a little inkling about what made a good team. This season has rudely disabused me of that, I have no idea who will win anymore.

Watching Ohio v Michigan on Fox Sports. Absolutely crazy crowd, I’ve got to get myself to one of these college games when I’m next in America.

They look great fun, the bands and music. Also proper historic rivalries to compare to football here, which is kinda missing from nfl. My ex is from Michigan, they would get 10,000 people watching high-school games when she covered it for the local paper.

Its in the book and film version of Friday Night Lights but I always find it mental you have local radio phone ins about these High School teams. Where local adults will often talk shit about the players and who should be picked or not. When the players are like 16-18 years old. Its bonkers.

It really is, you see facilities in small towns that would be better than many SPFL teams or league 1 or 2 English league. It's the way the whole system works of school-> college-> Pro. We don't see any of that development really here.

But on the other hand, their development tends to lead to:

School (don't need to actually learn anything)-> Most players don't go further than this, and have poor academic qualifications -> College if you're lucky (don't need to actually learn anything) -> Most of the rest of the players don't go further than this, and have poor academic qualifications ->Pro if you're incredibly lucky, many players actually never play in the pros even if they're drafted, and many more have very short careers. And generally have poor academic qualifications and really struggle at anything other than football

And the colleges aren't doing it for the academic good of the players, but purely for the money which they are fighting tooth and nail to keep away from those players.  One college just appointed a coach at a salary of $7.5m a year, whereas until July, the college could sell a players autograph, tickets to their personal appearances, photographs and jerseys with their name on it with none of the money going to the player themselves.

The deal USC just supposedly gave to Lincoln Riley is bonkers. $15m a year, plus a $6m house plus unlimited use of the private jet plus the bought his two homes in Oaklahoma for 500k over valuation each.

I used to be ok with college players not getting paid until I saw how much universities make. Also I had no idea they couldn't sign autographs etc or even have a job, it's disgusting.

Just to clarify when I said about football player development here, I meant its a lot less coverage unless you're involved somehow.

The Patriots have moved quietly to 9-4. Is New England vs Tampa Bay starting to become a realistic Superbowl possibility ?

Brady vs Belichick would be one for the ages.

Maybe but they still really ain’t that great, though the AFC doesn’t really have a great team, especially with the Chiefs being crap this season and the Titans with their decimated roster.

Yeah, but they're so dull. The theoretical idea of Belicheck vs Brady is good, but I think the reality would be a snoozefest of a Superbowl. Their week 4 game wasn't exactly thrilling, though it was close.

If we have to have Brady in another Superbowl, I'd rather see him against someone exciting.

That had to be a tough one for the Bills to swallow.

For 2 decades you have played second or third fiddle in the AFC East, the Patriots lose their hall of fame QB who has owned you for 20 years and the Bills finally draft a franchise QB and give him the big contract and you finally win the division, finally you are relevant in the play offs.

Next season comes around and the Patriots start 2 and 4 playing a rookie QB, who was the 5th QB taken in the draft, and now they are not only first place in the AFC East but in the conference as well? They came into your building and did that with their rookie QB?

Bill's fans have to be feeling a little sick this morning.

The problem is the Patriots now have what seems to be a very competent QB on a rookie deal for the next 4 years, they will be able to put the pieces around Mac Jones because they are not paying him 40 million.

To add pain to injury who do the Bills next? only Tom Brady and the Bucs. Although the way this season has gone the Bills will probably beat the Bucs.
