Unless it's just called Breath of the Wild 2. Like with Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

Does this mean that in 10 years time when we're all clamoring for a BOTW series remaster collection they'll just pretend that BOTW2 doesn't exist?

All indications appear to be that this a Xmas 2022 game, so that's what I have it pencilled in as.  If it's much later than that then the effects of the Pandemic must have impacted Nintendo's development pipeline far more than I thought.

To coincide with the Switch 2.

As and when we do get a 4k switch (or whatever an equivalent will be), I'll be there day one. I've always failed miserably to get on with handhelds, and the performance of a standard switch docked is just not good enough when you're playing on a big old tv. At least for me anyway.

But, a package with both BotW and the sequel together would be fucking marvellous.

BotW is the best game I've ever played. Sure, I want to play this right now, but I'd rather Nintendo take as long as they need to make this is good as it can possibly be. (so launch title for the Switch 2 :hat: )

4k switch launch title obvs

Alas, my BotW save is from my kids, started before they were all old enough to start their own games, so I've never really played through it properly. But is there any credibility to hardware supporting this? Just mildly curious, BotW is still one of the best looking games I've seen, scaled up to modern TVs or not. I think letting the Switch stretch its legs with more oomph (even if that was effectively unused for handheld mode) would be the icing on the cake.

Will From please stop scaring the other developers back into hiding.

I'm pretty sure this delay is nothing to do with Elden Ring at all... other than being in a big open world, the games couldn't be any more different... and besides, BOTW is still more open with more physics and weather systems going on - working on the WiiU

I think it has more to do with Pokémon being released at the end of 2022.
