So excited to see Demise might be returning. One of my all-time favourite Zelda villains

Demise is barely in it though,  he's the Imprisoned for most of Skyward Sword. Ghirahim's the star baddie of that game. I did miss having a  main baddie with a bit of character in Breath of the Wild. It's an obvious area that they can improve upon fairly easily in the sequel.

While replaying the original & thinking about plot, this teaser came into my mind & I wondered...

The Zelda series has been fond of the "Sealed Evil returns" trope for a while.  but this teaser seems to imply that Link & Zelda aren't willing to take their 1000 years & run, they want to defeat Ganon for good, not leave him for future Hyrule to deal with.  This is perfectly understandable if you consider that 100 years ago they almost lost everything playing the "Defeat the Sealed Evil" game, a game that Ganon is just as sick of as everyone else, hence his attempt to change the script rather than play his assigned role.

I could of course be wrong in my interpretation of what's going on, but if this is true it would represent a departure from usual Zelda storytelling tropes, something we've all been wanting for a while.  But would Nintendo actually be willing to depart from convention to that degree?  I think we all remember the quote about "what would Link do?" If Zelda was to take a more active role in proceedings.  Part of me hopes that the fact that Zelda is in this teaser trailer means she will have a bigger part to play in the sequel, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if the happenings that go on means she's trapped/imprisoned/possessed/etc & is once again the damsel that Link must rescue.

What sort of website is that? The words are all English but they don't fit together properly. I know Grubb does his Games Mess Live update/Q and A session each week so I'm guessing he said something on that. Why don't they just say that? Weirdos.

It's one of an increasing number of sites which rips stories from other sites, feeds them through a thesaurus, and republishes it as their own content.

There's no title. It's late 2022 at the earliest. Either this is 5 years of development condensed into pure brilliance, or covid has really screwed them up.

Unless it's just called Breath of the Wild 2. Like with Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

I'm excited.

Not to take away from what we already have to look forward to, but I like to imagine that one day they'll be a Zelda combining BotW with the skies of Skyward Sword (like this seems to be doing - though early days) and the oceans of Wind Waker. A whole beautiful landmass, beautiful realms in the sky, and a whole oceanic adventure too. 🙂 Oh, and a network of underground dungeons too. Big, classic dungeons.

I cannot wait for this!

Looks incredible. I really hope we get some kind of wing suit

It does look absolutely lovely. It just goes to show power isn't everything in crafting a fantastic game.

Not that I was a fan of BoTW but appreciated it's art style and ambition.

I am very much of the theory and hope that the 'scraggly haired Link' we're seeing in the trailer is actually Zelda, and that blue-tunic Link is, er, Link.

It would be such a waste of awesome characterisation if Zelda played another "I'm going to stand here for ages and hold back the devil juice" role.

Looking at the sky in that trailer, they might've just doubled last game's already enormous playground.

How awesome would it be to travel on horseback while you're on terra firma, while you trade your steed for a shoebill, I mean loftwing, when cruising through the skies.

Unfortunately I am going to have to be the one that pisses all over your ice cream and say that I reckon the water droplet mechanic is how you get to the sky world. Looks like you'll jump into one of those green-bluey pools and drip upwards to the land above. I don't think you'll be able to fly up there, though it would definitely be cool to do that, and akin to what I sort of expected with Skyward Sword (where the flying was great, but the sky had about two other tiny islands bar Skyloft). You'll be able to fall down from the sky at will though. And thems your apples.
