This is where Nintendo announce that the months of October, November and December do not exist anymore, so won't have to show off any Zelda :(

Is anyone else considering doing a run through of the first game again before this is released?

I want to get through the dlc but it's ridiculously difficult after such a long break! Might just play a fresh save for some light fun.

I bought it on release and still haven't finished it. I think I left it at the desert beast with the Goron one left as well.

I’ve got Ragnarok to finish so will probably dip in and out of this after, it’s more to familiarise myself with the controls and menus which I suspect won’t have changed too much in this rather than reliving the whole story from start to end.

I might spend half the time practising doing the shield parry on the guardians, that was so hit and miss for me. Just in case they make a repeat appearance in this!

I've lost dozens of shields on Master mode trying to parry guardians - they do a PITA thing where the timing of their shot changes so you can't really get into a groove. I've stocked up on ancient arrows instead.

I've not kept up with this, but... Is it the same map as the first one?

There's a few things I recognised there and that makes me worried that the sense of exploration might be a bit lost but maybe I've misunderstood it.

I really need to get back and finish it. I beat all the beasts but was concentrating on all the side quests and distractions that I've never ventured into the Castle to confront the boss man yet.

It looks like it - however they seem to have added more verticality. Plus I think the sense of exploration will be in finding things that are familiar and also the things that have changed. I expect we'll get a Zelda focussed direct before release. However it does look amazing.

Looks like most of my predictions are right after watching the new trailer, which is pretty cool! Zant and Ganondorf vs Link and Midna. Link’s Twili arm. Twilight Realm and the Twili are clearly a big part of the story. Will be interesting to see if some of my other predictions pan out too!

Thought the trailer looked ok, but a bit underwhelming compared to the others. Graphics looked pretty rough in places. Still got concerns regarding the exploration. As I said earlier in the thread it looks almost like it’s been designed in a Mario Galaxy style, with lots of little planetoids, rather than an open explorable world, and the exploration is one of my favourite parts of Zelda. That said I still think there’ll be an alternate world to explore so hopefully it’s all good!

They’ve shown us basically nothing. For all we know they’ve shown us snippets from the first hour of the game and you get them transported to a shadow realm of hyrule once you pass your powers across, like at the end of the video.

Yeah they really aren't showing much of anything. If I saw the trailers and hadn't been told it was a sequel I would genuinely think it was DLC with all the reused enemies and locations.

I know it'll be much grander than that but they haven't managed to convey a great deal in the trailers.

That trailer made it look like dlc for the first game. Just a jumble of random shit happening.

Not that it matters, it'll be great.

yeah.  It does feel like they are holding things back and are reluctantly showing a trailer out of obligation because of the questions that will be asked if they don’t finish a Direct with a Zelda.

A bit disappointed by that trailer tbh. Nice to see more but comes across as another teaser. I'm sure it will have its own direct before release.

So, I'm guessing you get to play as Zelda in this? The "Please, lend me your power" bit at the end.

I thought it was “lend him your power”.  I did think “Maybe you cannot defeat him” would be followed by “alone”  but that word never came.

You're right! I need subtitles for everything these days.
