Popular Post Strafe
Someone on kotaku (or maybe polygon) said they wanted the stamina mechanic removed for climbing. I do not want stamina removed, half the fun of climbing stuff was planning your route and having the challenge and risk/reward of actually climbing up things. If you want to be able to cling onto a sheet rock face for hours at a time there’s always assassins creed. EDIT: it was gamesradar.

Jarik
If they're still in there I would like the heat/cold resistance mechanics rethought. Either allow you to obtain bonuses for good like you could with the heart/stamina upgrades or streamline the whole system so you don't need so many. I assumed it be breakable weapons, but what crack are they smoking to think removing stamina is a good idea. It's easily one of the best features in BOTW and integral in how you play and approach various scenarios.

I'd like them to make it a bit more of a challenge though, because beyond the first few hours you can just quaff food and stuff so much and so easily that climbing became a chore. A simple solution would be to stop link being able to eat in the menu, and having him do an actual 'eat' animation. Ditto health items! Combat was never scary because you can just pause mid fight, even against ganon, and just each 50 apples to recover your health like a goofball.

So presumably some pretty good crack. I didn’t mind breaking weapons, it kept me on my toes.

My biggest gripe with the game is while everything is different from previous iterations, they still follow the stupid three hearts to kill bosses for the majority of the game. Strafe
I can’t remember the bosses that much having done them all back in 2017 (I’ve gone back to wander around many times since, of course), but I seem to recall some of them taking an awful lot of bashing to take down. They could nick back a feature from Genshin Impact where your character gets full if they eat too much, and stamina boosting items have a 5 minute timer on eating that type of food again. They should separate the pause function from the menu/inventory too, so that the world still continues while you're fannying about looking for potions or whatever.

Ran
I would welcome some thematic or visual variance in the shrines (or dungeon equivalent). Not a deal breaker by any means though. Breakable weapons remaining is fine with me but I wish there was some way to streamline the process of changing up weapons / armours etc. Going in and out of the UI broke up the flow of the game for me at times but I can't think of a way to do this. (I always wanted Prince of Persia warrior within to be built upon in this way, it had the seed of all weapons being disposable and you roll around sweeping swords up, throw them, steal them from enemies during combat to use against themselves) I loved the idea of using the shiekah stone powers in combat but it was too cumbersome to pull off I found rather than charge in and smack shit up most of the time, so I'd rather the weapons had a slightly more developed combat model with movesets (like twilight princess), this seems in opposition to the feel of BOTW though so not expecting it. I'm just excited for it though and will go in ready to experience whatever they've come up with at this point.

That would suggest we would get to explore those familiar areas up in the sky (no doubt modified in some way due to their upheaval) plus the new damaged ground down below. So this is BotW: Skate
Stoppy2000
I'll just be happy with more BOTW to be honest. Hopefully they do add in some more of their amazing audio cues that somehow are the most satisfying in all of gaming* *Apart from the fate discovered sound in Return of the Obra Dinn.

Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly, but I did eye roll more than once on certain bosses how rigid it stuck to the old formula too closely in terms of health bar. yakumo
Imagine if the reason of no gameplay trailer revealing too much is maybe they're doing a Raidan. When finally you play as Zelda instead of Link for a large part of the game.
Escape
I'd be happy without the stamina wheel, using a slip variable for climbing instead. Try and simulate a basic version of the challenge of real climbing.
ZOK
Stamina wheel is fine but sweet jesus it better not be slap bang in the middle of the screen again.
Jarik
If there's no Shrines/Towers and (it would seem) no Sheikah Slate (though the arm probably replaces that) then the Teleport mechanic might be rethought too. It quite liked the way it worked in BotW. You had to work your way to a place but could then return to it freely afterwards. Should they just do that again, or would the sky assent/Bird-Glider thing be a better way of getting around the world?
Benny
It's now already been more time since Breath of the Wild released than there was between Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker. Think about that.

Stanley
If it comes out May 2023 as planned it will still be less time since Breath of The Wild than between A Link To The Past and Ocarina of Time, think about that also.

Chosty
Yeah, given that the result of running out of stamina can be pretty catastrophic/frustrating, making the wheel so prominent means you're less likely to run out accidentally. Having said that, I could go for a pro mode setting where the wheel is removed and there are more subtle cues in Link's animation/sound effects to indicate his stamina is running out, a bit like the extreme temperature warnings.
Jarik
So, how many new Amiibo are going to be released alongside this, and what vital gameplay features are Nintendo going to lock behind them? Kidding! Honestly though, Breath of the Wild had a lot of non-vital but neat stuff locked behind Amiibo (Epona, the Fierce Deity Armor). Are they going to do that again? Ha, maybe, but there was a video I saw ages ago, someone fighting Ganon or maybe one of the other bosses, and just pausing the game to literally eat 80 apples or whatever to heal themselves back to two full rows of hearts! I think that kind of healing makes the game a little too easy and actually negates the idea of cooking/preparing for battle, imo!
