Ditto, though given that the only game mentioned sounded upthread like something of a personal nightmare (i.e. The Force Awakens meets Uncharted), I at least feel that I probably haven't missed anything!

Of course it'll now turn out that EA actually announced a new Mirror's Edge, an actual proper Syndicate sequel and the resurrection of the Ultima series and nobody bothered to mention them.

EA putting the minimum amount of effort into the Switch again.

At this point, Nintendo should tell them to fuck off and throw some money at somebody else to cover a few sports titles. EA are leaving cash on the table, so the beef obviously runs deep - and stuff like this does neither of them any good really. It’s all really, really odd.

FIFA is now a loot box game with a football engine attached. I'm sure they've got metrics that show the type of players who spend the most of FUT spend it on and are already committed to PS4/Xbox One so what's the point wasting money porting Frostbite to the Switch.

I usually keep an eye on threads here and on Resetera rather than watching the conference streams but I can't find an EA conference thread on Resetera which is extremely weird. The conference threads there usually update with about 500 posts per minute.  Does anyone know if they've hidden it or something? As in, you need to be a logged in member to read? Or maybe they've switched to discord.

The sheer lack of enthusiasm for this conference / stream is almost unprecedented in of itself. I mean to be fair, after the Star Wars stuff, the presenters and their faux enthusiasm grated so much I've not even bothered watching the rest of it myself.

Anyhoo, sorry about all the pinned threads from earlier! I only pinned them last night to help me organise the threads, fell asleep and only got around to tidying everything up mid afternoon!

Wow, the forum really has just shrugged at this conference, lol

The thing is firstly I'm not interested in most of what's being shown, and secondly I don't really want to see a 30 minute presentation of a game I might buy.

I'd rather see 5-10 minutes max, read a review and discover the rest myself.

I do appreciate the effort you put into all the E3 threads though.

Cheers and I completely agree with you. I mean it's not that different to EA's usual presentations, only this time they're telling us it's going to be shit in advance. :)

It is.

That's a game that completely slipped me by, but as I understand it, it's a bit like The Division, in that it's an online, team based campaign? Just to satisfy my own curiosity, could you (or anyone else for that matter) sum up what went wrong with the game in a paragraph, as I remember the hype and the gameplay footage looked strong enough. Just wondering where it went wrong. Cheers.

EA will just point to this street mode no one will use more than once as the excuse for why nothing was fixed in the main game.

Ultimate Team becoming a massive success was the worst thing to happen to the EA Sports games (from a consumer perspective).

In my opinion, the game suffered from an identity crisis. It felt and played like bits of a typical bioware single player, story driven game, but only small sections of the story and missions. They basically tried to shoehorn a destiny like looter shooter in to a story driven action shooter. The loot and progression system was unfinished, the endgame was unfinished and the cosmetic store was unfinished.

And others too. Konami try to do the same thing now.

The FIFA guy just made it sound like they're making a terrible attack biased game, probably for the FUT fans. Easier finishing, harder to defend, easier to dribble past people. Sounds shit really. Obviously this was all dressed up in EA speak like 're-architectured game flow'.

Exactly. The sad thing is I quite enjoyed Ultimate Team when it was new. Now it's just a cash cow that means the other parts of the game don't get touched. I presume there is another no-effort switch version this year as well?

@Gorf King is the man to answer this. Put it this way, The Division 2 Beta had more gameplay than what Anthem had at launch.

Ah yes, the ‘Legacy’ version.
