Looks like this E3 peaked with Keanu, and then promptly fell off a cliff. :lol:

 

Sony were right not to throw money at this year's E3. Total waste of time and money. But I will be surprised/concerned if they're not at next year's.

Which is sad, because I'm not really interested in "only slightly better than GTX 1080 performance three years on for only 15% less" being the baseline for a new architecture.

Cyberpunk looks okay, but do you have to play as generic white male? I'm not normally one to moan about diversity in games, but given the subject of body modifications it's unusual that they'd pick such a bland main character. I want some Mad Max shit.

In 2019 there’s Death Stranding, which I’m not sure about at all, Modern Warfare aka more of the same and Luigi’s Mansion 3, which is the best of the bunch. The novelty of Mario Maker kind of wore out first time round though I’m sure it’s a hoot.

Just a bit of a “meh” year.

 

I'm largely with you, apart from I think there will still be plenty to enjoy this year.

 

A few years back E3 went from being "look at this cgi of a game that might be out in a few years" to "here is in game footage of a game that you can play...tomorrow". It was a great shot in the arm for the industry and made E3 exciting again.

 

This year, we regressed in to the former and I just can't get excited for what has been shown, simply because it is all just cinematics. Even with all the faux hype from twitch streamers and the media, I just can't get excited for it. I'd have preferred more boring hardware talk to be honest.

 

Maybe Sony did the right thing by not going to E3, and focussing their attention on the right time to show new content, when it is ready.

pretty sure they've showed off a character creation tool before, so i'd assume you'll be able to adjust the look to your heart's content.

There's a character creator, so you can make your character just as you see fit.
