Seems to be doing pretty well. Averaging 86 on Metacritic so far.

I'd say most of those reviews are very positive about it.

IGN – 8.3 / 10
GameSpot – 8 / 10
Game Informer – 8.5 / 10
Destructoid – 9 / 10

Gamesradar  –  9 / 10
GameXplain – “Liked”

Eurogamer  –  "recommended"

Forbes  – 9 / 10

I suppose it's definitely worth checking out then.

It’s a Nintendo game.

Buy it. Rinse it. Sell it back for basically the price you bought it.

Absolutely. I recently dug out my copy of Majora's Mask on 3DS and noticed that it still had the price sticker on it from CEX. It's gone up by a few quid since I bought it. Happy days.

Or: Buy it. Rinse it.  Keep it. Play it again after a decade and complain about how the series has gone downhill ever since.

Oh, wait, that's me...

What do the reviews say about the run time? I'm far too lazy to check myself.

Between 12-15 hours for the main game, with another 5+ hours to 100%.

Sounds like the perfect length to me! Might add it to my Christmas list...

Next level games could be the rare ware games of the switch generation.

Keyboard Koala and I were chatting about this in the pub the other night, we both agreed NLG are far better.

Pre-ordered this and then found out you can't invert the Y axis :o  Knew I should have waited.

WHAT

I’m fucked. How often are you going in 1st person in this game?

Saw an advert for this on TV the other day which showed off a co-op mode WTFFFFFFF!!!!!!twelve :omg::omg::omg:

My wife and I played through the first game together on GameCube and we loved it. It made us laugh so much, and solving the puzzles together was lovely. We were looking forward to this one, but I had no idea we’d be able to play it together. Is it the whole game, or just a small mode?

Yeah why has it not been mentioned until now I wonder. I might be ok with it seeing as it’s not first person but I doubt it. That’s very un-Nintendo.

I was looking at buying this digitally but I can actually get the physical game for £10 cheaper... crazy.... I was trying to go all digital going forward from the Jan this year but its not really working out very well as I ended up getting Yoshi on cart too...

I'm an all digital mindset but just bought RDR2 on disc (AV forums) for £16. Its 'reduced' to £35 on the Xbox store at the moment.

Always go carts with Nintendo though, they hold their value so well (not that i sell them anyway!).

Nintendo are easily the worst of the big three when it comes to control scheme and accessibility options.

I'm usually a Y inverter all the way but assuming it's just aiming his torch/hoover in third person (because you still don't actually control the camera right?) I don't think it'll be that bad. Reminds me of Until Dawn where there was no Y-Invert option for the torch but because the camera was fixed and it wasn't a fast paced game I could cope with it.

The trick to any Nintendo game is to buy physical on launch.  If you don't like it you can sell for basically the same price.  If you do like it and will want to keep it indefinitely then you can wait until the inevitable eshop discount, buy digitally and then flog the physical version for basically what you brought it for.
