What the fuck do I do about the Elden Beast! - I manage to get phase 1 out the way with my mimic tear but by the time I get to the Beast I am nearly out of potions and my mimic is nearly dead.  I am yet to even hit the beast more than a couple of times.

I have gone through the entire game without using a human summon for help and would ideally like for that to continue - however after 160 hours if that's what it takes then so be it.  I have loved this from start to finish but the ending boss rush is a bit of a let down.

I have a feeling you'll do it soon enough. :D My mimic almost always got killed shortly after that phase started so I just had to go in with whatever I had. If you're up to it, get in there - look for its blind spots and try and get as much damage on EB in between each flask sip, and it will seem a little less impossible.

I am just amazed that this percentage of players even found her. I have been down this rabbit hole to even find that area of the map, and then finding a way to get to that tree, then working all the way down to the root.

Skill aside I did not think there would be that many players that are even obsessive enough to put the time to even find her.

Then receive probably 12+ bollockings to develop a strat and successfully apply said strat without running into something unexpected.

Also hearing about how successful this game has been I imagined most new players will play for about 2-3 hours and get frustrated.

It certainly takes a certain kind of person to do this. There’s just more of us than I realised.

Quick question (if it can be answered without spoling it): I have only seen this place for afar and have not discovered how to get there.

Spoiler

will I lock myself out of this if I go ahead and ignite the forge? or can I still progress and discover this on my own afterwards.

I never get bored of Bloodhound's Finesse. It always immensely satisfying.

it just hits like a truck. I can mess around with other things to have fun (double katana slash is another one I enjoy) but I am just not as effective with anything else. finesse sucks for dragons and birds but good for tanky knights.

So… is the Bloodhound blade worth using against Melania? I’ve tried dual-wielding different katanas (I’ve used two katanas all through the game), but nothing seems to work for me against her, or even minor bosses near the end of Crumbling Farum Azura.

I hope I still have it, and haven’t sold it 😂

I did basically only that for Melania. Between the bleed damage and the ability to stagger with the finesse move. I also used a mimic who was dual wielding bleed curved swords. I didn’t even see her infamous attack because of how much damage I did so quickly. Video posted further up.

I think I have used Bloodhound blade for most of the late game now ( I will check) but I think I can only upgrade it to +9? Does that sound right?

Also I haven't used any of the weapon arts thingies as my jellyfish sheild seemed to be the only one with it available.  When I unequip the shield though I can use Bloodhound's Finesse 🙃 - which I have just worked out with only the final boss to beat 🤣

+10 with a Dragon Stone thingy.

I’m not making much progress with it, as I’m used to dual katanas which are much faster. However even with them, Godfrey is destroying me and my mimic.
