How do you end up in the capital??

Spoiler

After beating the boss of the area, a warp gate activates that teleports you into a room near the second bonfire in the capital.

Hey could someone give me a fairly gentle push in the right direction to get to the western / southern parts of Mt Gelmir, I'm sure I've seen a heroes grave up there from afar, and there's a castle below I want to nose about!

Am riding around slaughtering things that earlier made me terrified, but having no luck finding my way!!

I was about to offer excellent gentle guidance s I thought you were taking about a place that I have visited but thenrealised the castle I am thinking of is north and east of Gelmir which is the opposite to where you are looking.

Shaded castle? Naaah done that one! :D

I found the Mt Gelmir Heroes Grave, so am currently cursing fucking chariots.  These things are shit man.  Instant kill is just boring.

Did that the other evening. Pretty nightmarish, but satisfying when you finally have your route and tactics down.

Yes, that is the one I know. I thought that, finally, I had the chance to help someone but alas..

Chariots? The Iron Maidens on wheels? I HATE those damn things.

i don’t mind spoilers… life’s too short and too many games for me to work all the stuff in this game out

@robdood Presumably you've been along the north part and found a broken bridge? If you back up there's a

Spoiler

ladder near the iron maidens just before there.

I missed it. Many streamers I've watched missed it.

Edit: if you're talking about the other parts further south, you

Spoiler

start at the seewater grace and follow the valley.

No I mean, like the one from that part of Dark Souls 2.  A bonafide chariot.

Ha, typically just as I come ot post to say I've found it!  I found it by using the map.  I felt so smart! I'd just never looked left after coming out of the cave near seethewater grace site. :D

Oh, yeah, the lads whizzing up and down the ramps? I'm with you now and, yeah, they are a chore. I did the one at the very beginning and gave up on another I found somewhere as it was too frustrating.

I thought chariots might be the official name for the wheeled iron maidens. Which I HATE.

I believe the iron maidens actual name is way more grim.

Spoiler

Abductor Virgins

Phew! Only bloody well managed to take down Malenia solo! No ashes, no summons (& no rune arcs!)

Spoiler

This was hard as fuck. Strat:

Spoiler

I ended up dual wielding as my shield was getting me accidentally killed more often than not - I was getting staggered all over the shop as Malenia hits like a truck. In the end I thought it would serve me better to make stamina management easier by just ditching it and learning to dodge everything. The actual run is kinda sloppy, I didn't manage a single perfect dodge of Waterfowl Dance and half way through phase 2 I didn't notice I lost an input and flailed at Malenia for like 30 seconds wondering why none of my attacks were coming out before I realised I was stuck in the wrong stance! Still, I'd lost quite a few attempts at the final hurdle so I'm glad it's done now!

I’ve just got to the Mountaintop of the Giants. I don’t know if I’m playing it wrong, but I’m finding the bog-standard enemies there far harder than even any of the bosses I’ve fought so far. Even one on its own kills me, let alone a group.

Those dudes are literally in that one place, and yeah they are super tough, don't worry once past them the other enemies are not as hard. You just need to grab what's hidden in those ruins and gtfo.

I just stomped draconian tree sentinel into the ground on my new run. Feels good. Then I stomped a bunch of the big knights in the capital into the ground too. That was even nicer. Then flushed with victory I figured I’d load my old save and have another few goes on the final boss.

I got stomped. 🙁

I’m hoping when I finally reach him on my new game I’ll stomp him back, but I’m slightly worried I won’t..

Ah man, just found (by clearing an area I was waaaay overpowered for) another way into the capital that allows you to avoid fighting the draconic tree sentinel.

This fucking game :D

I just used a warp gate after

Spoiler

beating Fia's champions in deeproot depths

and was transported to the capital - is this the same one?

I hadn't been there before, exciting but time to turn off now.
