Its teleport/grab move was just killer. Add to that the constant movement of the thing and it was an exercise in patience.

Woo, finally did the AHG catacomb in Altus Plateau! Admittedly I'm at the end of the game now, but that one had been haunting me for ages. Just getting to the boss door was a nuisance, and then the battle itself was often a mess. As ever I used my best ashes to split the aggro, but this time I came in with the upgraded WS, and having that extra range really helped move the battle along.

 

As for that reward...

...it's another weapon I can't use because of my stats. :lol: But I got a new armour set too, so yay.

Well this turned out to be a real nail-biter!

Like I mentioned earlier, I decided to handicap myself for this boss because I was doing ridiculous damage with my normal weapon and even lightning bolt spell. So I just picked a poorly upgraded close range weapon that did fairer damage, limited my health to using regen spells, psykik flask and crimson tears, and then buckled in for some serious pain and suffering. The whip timings are seriously hard to time dodges and also stun you which messes up the timings even more. If the bosses are close together, which they almost always are, you have to carefully watch the second boss for its attacks - and this is where a lot of the deaths come in. Its also why you'll see me spending a lot of time staying out of whip range and trying to manipulate the bosses into stances I know are safer (for example, when both are walking towards you, they are both usually aggressive, but if one backs off it will usually not interfere as much).

 

In the end this took about 4 hours or more, I got very close a few times but died a number of times when I'd already killed one. It was made a lot harder due to the short range of my weapon and its medium swing speed, with a spear it was way too easy though. Ultimately it was pretty brutal but because I'd made decent progress in earlier attempts I knew I stood a chance of doing it. Gotta say despite them being bastards, the bosses are really cool, a bunch of move-sets, awesome weapons and even changing weapons mid-fight! Stats and equipment are at the end of the video, although note that my psykik flask boosted my Dex by 10 temporarily, its usually 25.

I think one half of the lift medallion is in Caelid so it would suggest it’s first. Also, why does my phone now how to spell Caelid?

Ah right. I couldn't remember how I got those and figured the shortcut would be faster. Not sure I'll finish the optional bosses in this though. I tried the

dragon in CFA and whilst I got him down to 1/4, it got pretty insane. I have the fingerprint shield +25 so I might just learn to turtle better.

Are you sure it works if someone else drops it? I'd get the trophy then I could hand it back?

 

Yeah it works I helped someone moved their stuff and inadvertenly got the trophy! You don't need to give it back it's cool, I'll backup and restore my save, you on now? I can do it now

Maybe I was a bit OP, I had +7 Bloodhound Fang and +10 mimic tear. Just ran right up to him/ it (not sure about cosmic horror pronouns) and sliced him/ it up like a pizza. 

 

Anyone got any advice as to what to do in the capital city? I keep running through it trying to find a SoG (so I know I'm heading in the right direction) but I haven't and I just keep getting twatted. What's the objective there?

Aha, I think I see you. It's difficult to distinguish the summon sign from all the bloodstains...

 

Edit: @Minion Cheers for that! :) I still don't have the trophy so I must be missing something else, but apparently that's the only missable item so I should be good. If anyone else needs sorting for the trophy, I can help them out now.

Hmm, I got the trophy just by picking stuff up from someone else so if you double check what you are missing I should have it

Ypu can’t get into the capital without two great runes. The door behind lighting tree sentinel is sealed.
