It was, but, in all the previous games, the shield that gave stamina regen, was not.

So it seemed odd to me that it was 100%, it was something i expected they would nerf.

Im gonna load it up and check if they nerfed the brass shield, as i expect that to be nerfed aswell, as it was waaay to good for a med shield lol

Yes, true that. Grass Crest Shield in DS1 was a two hander stamina backpack.

Oh well, good while it lasted!

Grass Crest Shield was 95% reduction. This is a significant nerf on that and enemies in this hit a lot, lot harder.

To be honest my stamina bar is so big I'm not certain how much I need the buff. You'd get less ultra Greatsword swings for a full bar in DS1, and I can roll for days here.

None of the nerfs particularly affect my current build, but it seems unfair to anyone who invested in upgrades to have their gear downgraded. There must be a less punitive way of adjusting the balance without ruining people's characters. Having your main weapons and items downgraded is a real downer. I feel bad for anyone waking up to that today.

It's not affecting my current build either but i would have really liked to at least experience some of it.

I think some of the slightly unbalanced stuff can make the game more fun, helps people overcome certain hurdles in an unexpected way, make grown men giggle. Moonlight shield magic attack in Dark Souls was so much fun, unfortunately nobody on patch 1.03 or beyond ever got to witness it's awesome effects. Some nerfs might make the game more balanced but a lot less fun. Cool super weapons wrought of the hands of demigods should do silly damage and not be comparable to your upgraded longsword....imo.

Level 46, roaming around the Lakes, found Ainsel river, nope. Found another gruesome underground location and had to nope out as well. Caria Manor is kicking my butt, beat a hotdog in the academy but feel a bit under-levelled for the rest of it.

@Padaxes to be blunt...why the fuck are you using k+m!?!😂

use a pad! its a pad game. its designed around a pad. Just cos its on PC doesn't mean its going to play well with k+m!!

you will certinaly have a better time with a pad!

Hell yeah!  I couldn't imagine clicking with the combat without using a pad.  The way the attacks map to the shoulder buttons, the way I creep along, scared, gripping my shield with the trigger - that's the heart of the game!

without knowing how your flasks are allocated, what I can see, is your flask is only +8...by the end of your first play through , it can be +12(the max)...which means, you have missed 4 churches...

So, go explore!  you've missed some shit!

I have +12 flasks.

Ah wait you mean the potency of them. Yeah I could do with upgrading them but no idea where to go to find upgrades now. All the churches look unlocked.

Regarding Volcano Manor:

  Hide contents

I am worried people have missed a huge area from what I have been reading. Investigate every part of it... It is sensational.

So much this.

@robdood I dont know if there are differences but the woman you meet there gives you a key to one of the doors, explore around there thoroughly!

I've done all that and met some more NPCs and done a murder for them.  I think the best advice yet is to try rolling.  And keep up the murders.

Had one of those disappointing sessions last night where I didn't feel I'd made any progress.  Killed two mini-bosses and pottered around the lakes a bit but didn't get anything proper done.  The best bit though was a message popped up saying someone in the password group had 'become a lord'.  I presume that means they completed the game?  Well, if that was you, last night, on PS5 'rllmuk' group, then I cheered for you!

Unless anyone else finished last night, I’m guessing that will have been me finishing NG+ :)

The nerfs hit all the stuff I’ve been using but I’m not that bothered. Bloody Slash and Hoarfrost were clearly OP, and discouraged me from trying out anything else. Same with mimic. The flames spell was obviously an actual glitch. I’ve got so many materials now that it doesn’t matter much really, I’ll use one of my other +10 summons (I have 4).

Well that's all the Legendary stuff for Trophies mopped up.

Already had a lot of them or the rest were in locations I'd marked to go back to. Nothing hidden particularly out the way.

Which makes the fact 1 of them (out of about 30) can be missed forever with no warning. Between that and needing a trophy from 3 play throughs (unless you save shenannaggin, which I didn't so at least 2 play throughs) a couple of the trophies feel really out of kilter with the rest.

The trophies are well easy in this. Dark Souls demanded 3 playthroughs and had tonnes that were tied to covenant rewards so you ended up having to farm enemies for hours if you were offline.

Will these new NPC map markers show you where NPCS have moved to, when they seem to randomly disappear?  That feels like it's taking away a bit of the mystery of the games if they do.

The disappear when the NPC moves. They just show you NPCs you have found who are still there.

Sure, please send directions ! Think I have seen it on the map but not headed that way yet.

For how to get to the fort to the northwest of Volcano Manor:

Spoiler

This location can be reached by jumping into the ravine west of Wyndham Ruins (in Altus), then following it around the base of the mountain all the way to the northwest. Once you reach the Seethewater Terminus Site of Grace, the fort is just a straight shot west from there.

The first place I saw him after that was on

Spoiler

Mount Gelmir on the way to Volcano Manor. There were rainbow stones everywhere and he wanted me to have a look...up to his usual tricks then. I regret not falling for it just to see what happens.

Spoiler

I've just met him again on a hill in the lakes.  It's just slightly north of where the lakes telescope is, and you can see him sat next to a fire from the telescope view.

Moonveil hasn't been nerfed. It's still absolutely glorious, and as my build was based around Hoarfeost, it matches this too.

Yeah I've been using the Moonveil for about 50 hours and still not bored of it, although it does feel like cheating sometimes.
