I can't find any useful grave glove wart or whatever it's called.

I have a load of ghost and higher level grave but the stuff I need to level up my summons (level 1-3 currently) where the hell do I go for it?

The lower level grave glovewort can be found in catacombs around Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula and Liurnia, and can be added as a permanent purchase if you find a specific item and give it to the two-headed crone in Roundtable Hold.

Specifically:

Spoiler

Wyndham Ruins in the west of the Altus Plateau has what you need

If that’s about the scarlet rot, then I don’t think so. I wish I’d paid more attention to the cinematic about him.

People have pointed out it specifically says it does him in, so I think the intelligent way to get him down is to use it. Not thirty attempts at meleeing him and almost doing it a bunch of times. Looking back that was just stupid of me.

Ohhhh I had not clocked this either! Interesting.

I don’t know how else you’re meant to progress with the Ranni quest. Unless you mean because that’s optional as well. Which means everything is optional other than the 30 minute long speed rush to “complete” the game.

Being bunged in the middle of a cool quest line rather than just someone you can rock up to as and when and if you want is what I meant.

Are you trying to antagonise me or something?

Not at all! He is essential for Ranni’s quest, which is awesome. I just thought you’d been banging your head against him thinking you needed to in order to progress with the main path, so I figured I’d say it so nobody else thought that. I’ve been really enjoying your posts.

Haven’t been able to play for a few days so took a while to get into my stride this evening but I killed the boss of the caves I was told to go to for a clue and met the person with the knowledge I needed. I then scoured the academy and surrounds, including the bottom of the waterwheel area where I got a nasty shock.

I wasn’t in Kansas anymore that’s for sure.

Anyway, got out of that hot water and then thankfully beat Renalla on my second attempt. I had about 1HP left and no flasks so I think I kinda got lucky and brute forced it. Another round of her attacks and I’d have been a goner.

Currently hating on that prick sorcerer at the Caria Study Hall.

I’m going to say it…

this game is too big. 60-70 hours should be enough time to see a main story through. By all means have post story stuff - but having just opened another few massive areas and knowing how much is left, in a game with generally little guidance I don’t know if I’ll see the end.

You can see the main story through in that time. Less, really.

I’m about 75 hours in and trying to not do the capital just yet.  Really trying to eke this one out as it’s a one game in a decade kinda thing i think.

I beat the game at 50 hours, with all big boss rememberences. At around about 80 hours now, platinum trophied but still alot to see.

I am going to explore the areas I may have missed with a different build.

Bar a few enemy re-uses, I was never bored. It is incredibly oppressive though, and it pummels you into fatigue. Then again, I did put 50 hours in, in like 4 or 5 days.

What’s the rush? Game only came out a couple of weeks ago. I’m well over 100 hours in now and have only just done the second main boss. I’ll take 400 hours of this, it’s pure crack.

Irritatingly I killed the sorcerer but there’s apparently nowhere further to go. I’m in the rafters. Any clues?

Still no luck overcoming my main wall, but I did go back and take on Black Blade Kindred - and eventually secured the win. This was probably the first successful trial of my upgraded Grafted Blade Greatsword, and it's actually a great boss for this kind of build: BBK takes their time and does slow, powerful attacks... but so do you. It's a battle with a lot of the fundamentals and not too many gimmicks: just read the moves, take advantage of the openings and sometimes anticipate the boss continuing into a combo. There were some annoying attacks that did chip damage through my guard, but generally it was a pretty satisfying encounter.

E: also cleared Selia Crystal Tunnel and its Fallingstar Beast! I probably didn't need to leave it for that long, but the start of the area was originally pretty discouraging when my weapon was bouncing off everything.

I'm late game now and running around a hidden city in circles for the last 90 mins with no clue what to do next. Ready to just quit playing.

It's the area with the godskin duo. Killed them. No clue what to do now.

90hrs in. Fuck this game 😂

I really can't recall the last time I played anything for that long with minimal enjoyment since the last time I had erectile dysfunction.

I think I might have accidentally killed an NPC today. In a church in Altus...

Spoiler

The first time I arrived I was attacked by an NPC invasion, so second time around I tried to attack as they were appearing out of the ground but didn't realise there was something/someone there! And it/he/she died immediately. What did I do?

Never mind. It’s part of the Ranni quest. Which I’ve fucked.

Starting to think I’ve fucked the biggest NPC quest in the game :(

I’m reasonably sure there’s a way to undo the damage you’ve done to that quest line.

Have you found a church with a particularly cool “dog”?

This. I accidentally killed the evil Varys wizard guy. You can fix it and bring them back.
