Ranni's rise, behind Caria Manor? I got him down to half health and then he just buggered off. Hasn't been back since. I imagine he'll pop up again later...

Spoiler

He just moves elsewhere in the area. You can kill it.

Is it the same one

Spoiler

In the north of the lake, who you find sleeping in front of the glintstone key? I killed that one already but can't remember if I did so before or after Caria.

Looking for some non-spoilery advice please on where to tackle next (midgame)

Spoiler

I've done the Academy and Renella, explored nearly all of Limgrave, Limura, Weeping Peninsula and Stormveil. I've got to the great lift and have one half of the pendant for it, the other half is in the dragon lands, apparently. I have gone up to the Manor but got repelled by the magic attacks, probably need some item/quest to get in there. I found the entrance to the tunnel which is the bottom way into the plateau.

I have only explored the very edge of Caelid, by its Erdtree and no further, and gone no further east aside from a teleport to the beast guy. Where do you reckon I should head next? Into Caelid to explore? Down the tunnel? Or head far east to the dragon lands? I'm looking for the next step in the difficulty curve basically, I don't want to come back to a key area overpowered. Cheers!

Started again on the PS4 version, powered my way to beating Godrick, this playthrough is literally going to be a run through for all the trophies, I wont be doing any opitional stuff

Once done with this, I will probably do NG+ with my PS5 character.  Dual Godskin Peelers bleeding everything they touch.  Had a quick go at Margit with them, it wasnt good for him put it that way

Well having to stay home to make sure the dog was ok today means I think I've levelled up from 58 to 68 today.

Was really struggling in the Dragonbarrow cave

Boss spoiler

Spoiler

The two beastmen at the same time bounced off them for an hour , and then it just clicked.

Summoned the wolves who distracted the one with the greatsword.

Whilst I then took down the one throwing knives.

The wolves did enough so it was then a matter of keeping distance from his  room crossing slash combo and then jumping in with the two swords. Not even a demigod but by god I thought my victory was deserved as I was carrying 36k runes and you can't warp out of this cave.

I have not tried to killed the bear in there mind.  He hits for about 800hp a swipe.

I wish I could relax about losing runes as I'd probably have a much easier time.  I'm not in a massive rush to level up, so tend to only level up after I've beat a boss or a mini boss, but when I've got a few thousand runes on me I become timid about entering unknown areas / doorways in case I lose them.  It feels such a relief when I find a merchant I can buy something theoretically useful from (like a spell I will never use) and get down to close to 0 runes, then I can fearlessly explore again.

I’ve got a piss easy farming spot where I can get 35k in one minute, and a better one where I can get 91k in five minutes. You really don’t need to worry about losing runes.

That first spot, if it where I think it is, is great. Level 90 on Xbox within the first 8 hours

I think it’s more of a four kings situation with a shared lifebar and respawning bosses.

On the duo:

Spoiler

Yeah, I managed to get both down at the same time and after a moment a new apostle appeared, with a new noble shortly after. Bit odd.

You are correct. Sorry @Doctor Shark, I think you're thinking of a different one.

Yeah, you can skirt around the lightening to get to The Manor. I've headed to Altus after that,

I would try the tunnel. You might hit a roadblock somewhere, but it's worth heading up anyway to unlock sites of grace, looting, and levelling up.

So I've been getting nowhere with the GD boss in

Spoiler

Crumbling Farum Azula

, but I've only just realised that I never went back to try the GN or GA bosses on their own. And now they're both down, so there's hope. :)

Beat them second go.

Any tips? They're turning me into marmalade with a melee build.

Gonna follow in your footsteps @therearerules

Spoiler

No spoilers for where we're up to by the way. Did a bit of Caelid before I read the posts here, its pretty rough, probably do-able but very painful. Tried out the tunnel which was ok, but the boss is too hard right now, even with summons. So now I have just ridden past the magic at the Manor and going to head in!

Blood hell this game is great.  So having reached Altus and the next level 'up' the map, I have been trying my level best to ignore clearing out every little interesting thing I see and just concentrate on finding maps instead.  Been to three mines along the way!  Lol.  Seen some terrifying looks stuff that I've just noped the hell away from, for now.  For the life of me can't figure out how to get up Mt Gelmir, must be something I'm missing.

But have just come across shaded castle, so fancy tucking into that before heading to bed.  BEST GAME.

One thing I've particularly loved over my last few sessions, is although the copy paste rooms in caves and mines etc feel a bit samey, they do smart things like introduce new, crazybig rooms, or connect them up to outside or other dungeons in clever ways, there's always something that feels like each place you explore is unique and interesting.  Absolutely genius.

I did the same on the quest for the map piece. I figured it was inaccessible

Spoiler

but there's actually a difficult to spot ladder near the iron maidens, just before the deadend area where you get invaded.
