Brilliant!  I checked out and only then got the cover for free.  Thank you for confirming

I’ve given it a go, but I bought it from eBay so I reckon they’ll say no. I do actually get a temporary rash from the standard foam.

i got my quest 2 of facebook marketplace two weeks ago - they only thing oculus wanted to confirm was the serial number (as they say newer models are not affected) so def give it a try

That worked! Then I went through to checkout and it stalled at the checkout button and now the link doesn’t work. I’ll email them again

That's great you got yours.

How long do they take to get in touch once you raise the support ticket? It's been a couple of days now but nothing...

I would chase them - took a couple of hours for them to come back to me

  • 2 weeks later...

Carve is bloody brilliant.

I’ve only played a few hours so far but I absolutely love this game. And most of that time has just been spent trying to beat my time on the first course (currently I’m in 4th place on the global leaderboard...yay!). As 1080 on the Nintendo 64 remains one of my favorite games of all time, the fact that this had one of the creators behind it was very exciting. In that game I never really cared for doing stunts as I’m much more of a racer / speed freak and it’s the same here. Doing tricks may or may not be amazing (I don’t really know as I haven’t tried it much) as for me the game is worth it and then some purely for the thrills of the Time Attack mode and racing down the mountain. So many different routes and boards to try and get the perfect run.

There are lots of boards, gloves and extra music tracks to pick up and unlock along the way. In terms of music you can either make a playlist, choose a specific tape or just one track. Lots to choose from and unlock and I’ve found some great tracks so far.

Ultimately it’s the controls are absolutely fantastic when it comes to carving down the mountains. Tricky at first but once you get the hang of it it’s amaZing and just so much depth to keep improving and getting better. It’s incredibly addictive to just keep having another go to try and beat your time or find a new route down the mountain as the controls are just so much fun to master.

I feel this game is being somewhat overlooked at the moment and certainly underrated. For the price it’s an absolute steal. Anyway, enough on here I need to go back and try and claim that number one spot!

PS would love to see an option to race ghosts and would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to have a match race option like 1080 had against an AI opponent.

Never heard anything back about the replacement face thing. They sent an automated email to say they might not have replied. I replied to that but still have nothing. This is consistent with my prior experience of Oculus support!

Be persistent. I had to email back a few times but I'm now expecting mine tomorrow.

For people that have it already, is it a big improvement over the original?

Might be worth holding out for the Quest 2 Pro whenever that launches. I want to upgrade from my Quest 1 before RE4 comes out but if the pro launches before then i'd be kicking myself.

Is this an actual thing or just wishful thinking? I'm so tempted to upgrade to the 2 but would much rather wait if a pro model is indeed in the works.

Yeah Zuckerberg spoke of it in an interview. Said it will come before quest 3, but no time frame just yet.

I don't know if it's a gmail thing, but I found that occasionally my emails wouldn't reach them at all for some reason. I only found out when I checked the ticket status online and found they closed it due to no response from me!

The replacement is basically the VRCover set. I prefer it as it's easier to keep clean.

Apparently my facial cover is in the way.  Oculus support should send you a link so you can put the replacement vr cover in your basket*

* as long as your Oculus Quest 2 was made before a certain date

My vr prescription lenses arrived this morning - as someone who has always worn glasses while play on my various oculus devices over the years they are a real game changer I’ve never seen vr games look as crisp and sharp before 🙂

I think I may need to to do this too. My Quest 2 has been idle because of the glasses discomfort issue.

May I ask what price were these and a link?

Thanks

Got mine from https://www.vr-wave.store took just under 2 weeks for them to arrive - went for these ones as they have base connectors  and the lens then use magnets to connect meaning I can take them off very easily when my little ones want to play.  Had a session with them on earlier and they stay on perfectly even when jumping around in beat saber.

in all it worked out arround £60 including expedited manufacturing and shipping (google search and you can get a 5% off coupon for them)

been playing Stones of Harlath and its been quite fun so far.  A pixel old school open world rpg game ( see trailer below though the trailer voice over really could have been better). its only £8 as well on quest :)

The one thing though playing this game has made me realise how badly i would love a secret of monkey island game done in the same style on the quest

So I have finally got a gaming PC powerful enough to do Quest Link. I have a Quest 1. I have ordered an appropriate cable which is coming tomorrow.

I was going to get Alyx from the Steam Store.

Am I limited to the steam store and is it only games that are compatible with the Oculus Rift that I can get?

Also, are there any other PC only bangers that might wow me with their graphical oomph?
