Air Link just showed up on my daughters Quest 2.  Tried it out on my PC and it works brilliantly.   Its making me consider upgrading from my old Rift CV1

Where does it show up?

I have it enabled on the desktop app but didn't spot it within the quest (v28)

I had to reboot the Quest probably 4 times after the v28 update was applied before the option for Air Link appeared (in the Experimental Settings section. ). Seems it's quite common to have the v28 update but it not show up right away...

Anyone know if we can use these now without a real fb profile? Reddit posts seemed to suggest people were doing this but can’t find a confirmation.

Depends what you mean by real. Mine has nothing on it.

Been thinking of upgrading my quest for a while now and with oculus signalling the start of quest 2 exclusive games been keeping and eye out - well today was the day - a lady put  on her sons quest 2 on Facebook market place for £180 as he got it for Xmas played it for one day got bored and it’s sat in cupboard since then.

Best of all she was only two miles away - I was round there faster than a wippet incase she came to her senses and realised that it should not be sold at that price :-)

With the original quest and it having 2 separate screens, does that mean each screen was full resolution? Or each screen made up half the resolution?

I can only see properly out of one eye and have been using the original without any real issues, but if each eye was receiving full resolution that would explain why. With the Quest 2 and its single screen, would I only see half the resolution compared to what I see with the original? Thanks.

I'm tempted to upgrade from my Quest to a 2 mainly because of Resi 4 VR. Considering I mainly use my Quest as a Steam VR via Link this is a ridiculous sign of how obsessed I am with the Resi series. Will probably wait until there are more 2 only games though.

As someone who has just upgraded I would say the step up from quest 1 - 2 isn’t that big (yes visuals are slightly better and sharper) but for me it was  due to oculus signaling quest 2 exclusives so better to sell quest 1 now while prices are still good and upgrade than wait to peeps don’t want them so price drops

I must say, as someone who wasn’t keen on the Oculus with their exclusives fuckery and Facebook attachment, I never thought I’d get one.  But it’s undeniably the best VR headset out there in terms of value and feature set.  For me, the ability to play PC VR games wirelessly was a game changer.  I had to Lolz at HTC for their newly announced Vive Pro 2 with its massive price tag and that not much better than what a quest 2 offers.

So oculus are giving away free padded face interfaces for quest 2 if you have a quest 2 bought before jan this year - some peeps have been complains of getting face rashes etc….  All you have to do is go into oculus support raise a ticket (selecting face cover as reason and provide your serial number)

did this yesterday Afternoon and new passed face cover is now on its way

Do you have a link to the correct support page? I can't find it at all.

Cheers. Have emailed them.

I genuinely have had problems with it as. I have very sensitive skin and eczema and could use this. Maybe I will get in the habit of using it again.
