klargon
I’ve heard there’s some issues with playing Borderlands 2 on the Quest. Sounds like turning off the target reticule solves one of the issues. Not sure what the rest are.
sbrandon111
Yeah I had to turn off the crosshair, it was sitting off centre. The only other thing I noticed was that the hud elements were more toward the middle rather than the sides. I didn’t know this was a quest problem though. Apart from that the game looks and runs great.

simms
RIP Virtual Desktop https://www.oculus.com/blog/introducing-oculus-air-link-a-wireless-way-to-play-pc-vr-games-on-oculus-quest-2-plus-infinite-office-updates-support-for-120-hz-on-quest-2-and-more/ Quote OCULUS AIR LINK COMING SOON TO QUEST 2 IN EXPERIMENTAL MODE Note: Air Link is part of v28, but it requires that both your headset and PC be running v28 software. That means we’ll unlock Air Link once both Quest and PC v28 releases are rolled out. Since launching in 2019 and exiting beta last year, Oculus Link has been a widely used feature across the Quest Platform. With a gaming PC and a compatible USB-C cable, Link has given people access to Rift’s impressive content library, including games like Asgard’s Wrath, Lone Echo, Stormland, and more. But of course, being tethered to your PC can break immersion and limit your mobility. We know gamers want to use Link without a wire—to experience the full freedom of movement offered by Quest 2 while playing the high-end titles that can only run on a gaming PC. That’s why we’ve been working on a new streaming technology called Oculus Air Link—a completely wireless way to play PC VR content on Quest 2 using WiFi, built on the successful Oculus Link streaming pipeline. klargon
I also have a 5700xt. This is from the Oculus Air Link FAQ: Max bit rate values for AMD and NVIDIA GPUs are different - You can set up to a max of 100 mbps on AMD - You can set up to a max of 200 mbps on NVIDIA Not to say that won’t change over time, but they’ll need to offer different encoding if they’re to improve it. SneakyNinja
Interesting, thanks. At least not being able to get hold of any new cards gives them time to improve things.
papalazarou
If anyone is interested how to get oculus air running on quest before official role out - also works on quest 1!! https://www.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/mwgrob/appairlinknow_helps_you_launch_air_link_now/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
Parappa
Can anyone recommend similar 'experiences' to Richies Plank Quest etc. Got a few coming round for a garden beer later and may give them a spin on the Quest 2 and something quick and simple is required after a few beers. Had a play about with it and at first it was un playable latency was so bad that there was 3-4 second wait between any action you did and it registering (ie waving hands) but after reading arround i found the answer - in the oculus debug tool set encode birate to 0 - after that it worked great. finally able to play minecraft bedrock wirelessly. Tried Half Life Alyx and again it worked great ( i found personally the link cable esp in steam games was woefull so stuck to VD for them).

klargon
Pokerstars has changed to use the Oculus avatars. They’re quite unnerving. Unfortunately, the update also seems to have doubled the size of the game. It generally wants a full update about twice a week, so that’s a bad move in my book. Jackson
Quick review of my purchases so far as a new adopter Keepers Pistol whip - amazing feeling to play. Love how everything is ahead of you as I have found I don't enjoy having things attack me from behind! Beats Superhot as my favourite shooter. Eleven - my favourite game. It's just like the real thing Walkabout mini golf - amazing course design and physics and really simple controls. So much care gone into it with little things like finding a lost ball on each level. Top Golf: Pro putter or whatever it's called - much less 'fun' than Walkabout but still great. I like the driving range best and can't wait for pitching courses. In death unchained - my only 'big' game, can see this being one to chip away at for months. So satisfying shooting arrows in quick succession. Thrill of the fight - can't handle much of this as it's knackering! Amazing 1-to-1 controls. The room - played 30 mins, it seems great. Already solved some puzzles that made me feel quite clever. Real fishing vr - it's just...fishing... I guess. Not sure if I'll refund this yet Games I refunded.... Robo recall - just feels a bit 'flat' and not very fun compared to pistol whip or in death. Until you fall - it needs a really big play space and a high ceiling. I hit my lampshade and got scared to keep going. Premium bowling - meh. Zero effort gone into the alleys and the 'theme'. Just felt like Wii bowling without the fun. Wishlist: beat saber, Tetris effect, gorn, red matter, racket nx

Moz
I was having terrible problems with my Quest lenses fogging up when I put them on. I've found a brilliant solution! We all know it's down to temperature causing condensation. So now I simply keep my Quest on top of my desktop PC, which has an exhaust blowing upward out of the case. The lenses are always just above room temperature and no longer fog up when I put the Quest on my big dumb head. Nice! I seem to have picked up v28 after a reboot, time to have a play around with Air link.

Moz
I've got some prescription inserts and it's worse with them, they're right up against my face although much more comfortable than wearing glasses. Heating the lenses up by storing it somewhere warm really does the trick, give it a try.
