I was about to try that, cheers. EDIT: Done so three times now and it's still not having it. It comes up with a cloud sync message and then crashes to home. I don't really want to request a refund because I assume I'll lose the free credit it put towards it then.

Ive got it running on Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop fine after a bit of initial faffing about. You also need to ensure that the "Keep Audio In Background" option is enabled in the in-game Audio settings. Yeah, run it in windowed. Had the same problem myself. schmojo
Finally finished Moss. Because I forgot I hadn't. It's good, but I didn't find it very good. It has some of the best graphics on the Quest, and the puzzle design is largely great. But the jumping is off. Feels both clipped and floaty at the same time. The combat's not exactly a draw, and it's standard VR game length at about 2-3 hours. The story and setting were fine enough, but I'm finding myself yearning to try something as good as everyone says Astro Bot is. Somewhat selfishly, I hope someone just steals their ideas wholesale, because I can't see myself picking up a Playstation and PSVR.

Moss is utterly charming but I found the puzzles all a bit samey and when you think about it they have a similar logic pattern to a lot of the block pushing style chores that troubled Lara Croft's adventures in the early games. Astro Bot is my favourite new IP for a decade and, sadly, Quest games still feel short and somehow unsatisfying by comparison. It might be worth trying Shadow Point though (if you haven't already). It is not on a par with Astro Bot for sheer fun but the puzzles are something a bit different and quite mind-bending. Nice narrative too.
schmojo
I did Shadow Point ages ago, and really enjoyed it. I've pretty much played all the puzzle games. I'm just super curious about the diorama/3rd person inventiveness people mention with Astro Boy. I'd say that, if HZD can come to PC, anything can, but I suspect Astro Boy is too much of a peripheral seller.
Rudderless
Just popping in to warn everyone not to buy The Climb 2 (at least for the time being). I've tried deleting and reinstalling it five times and each time I get no further than the splash screen. A sound effect plays and then...nothing. Did some research and apparently lots of people have experienced the same issue and have had no response about a fix.
Parappa
For those running Virtual Desktop - Do you need to have a decent connection directly to the router or is there a way around this?. My router is downstairs and my Games PC upstairs and wired to the router as I dont get a decent Wifi connection up there. If I play the quest in the living room (where the router is) it works great but upstairs its not so good. Do I need to get a better router? - currently running the standard Sky Q router... klargon
Creating a 5ghz hotspot with a PC Wifi card/adapter (AC minimum) should do the trick I think. The fact that the PC is wired to the router should really help you out.

I have one but suspect its not 5ghz but will give it a try and see what the outcome is - thanks!
klargon
I couldn't seem to get it working right with my setup. It's probably worth a quick google just to check on the specifics - there should be plenty of hits. I've got a mate who uses a pretty cheap non-brand USB adapter and it works for him. Parappa
Will let you know how it goes - I have this https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/adapter/archer-t2u/ Managed to setup a hotspot for it easy enough so will see what that gets me in the Oculus. Mawdlin
It is all speculation at the moment but some 'detail' has leaked about Apple's new AR/VR setup. VR looks like it will be as comfortable as wearing a pair of glasses/or a slightly heavy blindfold. 105g compared to 503g on Quest 2. https://www.caesarvr.com/vr-ar-news/killer-features-of-apple-s-vr-ar-headsets-have-just-leaked I won't be getting rid of my Quest 2 anytime soon though. Rumour has it Apple's system could cost anywhere between $1000 and $3000. An AR sidewalk bowling game seems to be the only thing leaked gamewise. Sounds dangerous. milko
Price and software support would be my main worries on this. If it can’t do SteamVR/WMR/Oculus etc, I won’t have much use for it.
Fletch
What racing games are available for the Quest? I don’t have a PC so the stand-alone option seems like a good shout, would 64gb be enough?
milko
Toybox Turbos I think has most of the press, there aren’t loads on it as standalone. 64GB should be plenty enough unless you plan to have absolutely loads of games/movies on it at once and don’t like deleting things to make space. Last time I looked (in Quest 1 times admittedly) most games were less than 1GB.
metallicfrodo
Having been very pro 64gb initially I am finding it a bit of a pain now, there are a lot more games well over 1gb now and I’m constantly having to remove games from mine to fit. I’ve got The Walking Dead 13gb and Myst 10gb on my Q1 at the moment which account for over a third of the storage. Games like Tetris Effect clock in at 3gb with the new Star Wars at almost 6gb. Many new games seem to be clocking in at over 2GB. Having said that the additional cost of the 128Gb version really takes the piss.

Jamie John
Do we have a definitive list of essential Quest-native games? I've not used mine much since Christmas. I've not played all of these, but off the top of my head I've heard that the following are supposed to be worth a purchase: Beat Saber Tetris Effect Rez Infinite Red Matter Shadowpoint Moss The Room VR What else? Jackson
Just got a quest 2 yesterday. Lovely little thing, I'm very happy! The battery did keep dieing though. In order to keep playing while it charges, can I just buy an extra long cable and plug it into the wall/an Xbox to charge whilst playing? Something like this... https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B08CBG8NVW/ref=sspa_mw_detail_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_i=B08CBG8NVWp13NParams
Jamie John
You can currently get 25% off a single game purchase in the Oculus mobile app using the code 'mobile25'. It doesn't appear to be account specific, either. Just got The Walking Dead: S & S for £22.50, which is pretty decent seeing as it's never on sale. @metallicfrodo @schmojo @Mawdlin @Paulando @Eighthours @Bobbi Champagne Jr @milko @Fletch @milko @klargon (sorry if I've missed anyone!)
