I got the non battery elite strap and whilst taking it off and on is now so much easier, I still find the weight to be massively problematic. It gets so uncomfortable after a small amount of time that I'd rather deal with the wires of my Rift.

I recommend adding the VR Cover Foam pad. Makes a huge difference to the comfort and fit and reduces the need to cobble a battery pack to the back of the head strap.

Its never in stock on the VR site so I ordered it from Amazon.FR and it came within a week with no customs issues (to the UK)

My box damaged 256gb arrived today. Was bit worried as turned out the pic on the listing (and one I'd posted earlier) was their stock one for box damaged Quests.

I needn't have worried

£120 off due to this tear in the otherwise intact plastic...

Thanks for this, I've been after one of these for a while. I wanted the Elite strap for it's sweat resistance during exercise games, but my weird head doesn't fit the back properly. The top corners don't touch my head so all the weight is on the bottom strap, which hurts after 10-15 minutes. I improvised by using the thick pad from the VRcover faceplate stuck to the back, which does solve the issue but it's not the tidiest solution!

It's great.  Not cheap, but a brilliant improvement.

I received a VR cover facial interface yesterday, and that's also great.  I'd previously tried a simple silicon cover but found that to come away too frequently; plus another Amazon variant of an interface which wasn't good.  I've probably thrown too much money at it at this point, but the VR cover is the best I've tried.

What's the best way to utilise my setup for Virtual Desktop wireless streaming?  My router is the opposite side of the house to the PC, and running an ethernet cable isn't an option.  I have a Deco M5 connected to the PC's ethernet port.  I also have a WiFi 6 PCI card.  Am I right to think the best way would be to use the PCI card to connect to WiFi with the PC rather than using the M5 + cable, then share the connection as a 5GHz hotspot, then connect the Quest to that?

I am able to use Firefox browser to stream any video link I have "acquired" and added to my account, including the massive size 3D SBS files,  directly from the Real Debrid site so that's no more downloading and fannying about with DLNA.

I did try the built in browser but I'm not a fan of the curved screen and now I get a resizeable flat screen with a choice of background (black void obviously for movies)

I only have one good eye due to glaucoma so normal 3D specs don't work for me but these look great.

Me too, I have one eye that works, but it's not great. Still, trying to have VR fun, and it is good, even without clarity or 3D vision.

Been trying out the new Virtual Desktop wireless streaming with Asgard's Wrath. It was a bit choppy, but I've had trouble with that game even when connected with the cable so not sure yet.

Everyone put their couch into Guardian yet? It's under 'Experimental Features' on Settings.

Also, I checked out Shooty Fruity. If you're after a silly, fun "Try to get 3 stars on the level" type game, it's not a bad one. Maybe wait til it's sub-£10 though.

Just came here to recommend Crashland. It's a horrible, often terrifying disgusting devil spawn of Starship Troopers, Aliens and ROBOTRON (ok, maybe the ROBOTRON analogy isn't quite right but there is something about the sound design and vibe that triggers memories).

To dismiss it as a wave shooter would be short sighted for sure. 24 absolutely hard as nails levels (in the best possible way). New terrain and new creatures added on each level, and a variety of perks etc unlocked as you gradually level up. The core gameplay is survive x amount of minutes before pickup after crash landing on a planet and its absolutely all game, zero guff. The random spawning and amazing procedural animation on the often disgusting variety of alien creatures keeps it fresh and I'm always really keen to get to the next level to see what horrors and gameplay twists await. It's pure skill based arcade mayhem in the best possible way, great sound design (no music to speak of) and gameplay mechanics constantly keep you on your toes. Apparently developed by a sole developer who is a professor at Bangor Uni and specialisies is procedural animation (it shows) it really is quite the achievement and deserves support. Be warned, not for arachnophobes but those after some absolutely terrific and rewarding gameplay that may make you scream occasionally and is perfectly suited to VR then no look no further!

My elite head strap (with the battery) has cracked at the side.  I've been super careful with it, and haven't bashed it against anything.  I just noticed it like it :(

I'm sure this was a known fault, hence why they were pulled from sale shortly after release.  Maybe contact Oculus for a replacement

Can someone sell this to me please? I’m interested in VR but there don’t seem to be any great sites listing what devices play which games. The quest 2 is standalone and I’ve seen a few games but is there a proper list somewhere? I don’t have a proper pc at the moment but that’ll probably change, would the pcvr eventually let me play Alyx?

With quest ( I have the first quest) you can play pc games either via Wi-Fi stream with virtual desktop   or using a link cable - so you get the best of both worlds (stand alone vr and pc be gaming)

I’ve had every oculus since dk2 and the quest is by far my favourite due to being able to take anywhere I go without the need for pc etc.. or having the choice to play pc games

as for a list can’t think of one of the top of my head but if day what type of games you are in into then peeps I here will respond with what they think are the best ones that would suit you

For anyone who has Walkabout Golf they added a new course recently: Space Station Tethys. It's really novel plus the developer has updated some of the matchmaking and score features.

If you don't already have the game it's a steal at just over £10.

If it’s just a list of games you are looking for then here is the oculus quest store page with all games listed

Although arguably starting on the front page is better as they are broken down in categories

I'm trying to get Star Wars Squadrons to run on my Quest 2 but I can't get it to work. I played it fine for a few hours back in December, but it's not playing ball with me now.

I've bought the game through the Epic Games store, so I launch it through that, which then boots Origin, which then boots the game. If I enable the VR when the Quest is connected via the Link cable, it'll come through the headset, but the picture is very dim and it runs like a complete hog. If I try to go into VR mode wirelessly with Virtual Desktop on the Quest (which is what I did last time), then VR won't turn on properly - I'll still be in desktop view on my Quest.

Anyone got this running properly?

Has anyone else bought the Quest version of Gorn?  I had £8 of free credit to use up yesterday so put it towards Gorn, but it crashes instantly every time I try to load it.  This is on the Quest 2.  Anyone else had this problem?

Think its to do with it not running properly in VR if you have the PC window maximised. Ive got it running on Quest 2 via Virtual Desktop fine after a bit of initial faffing about. You also need to ensure that the "Keep Audio In Background" option is enabled in the in-game Audio settings.
