Have you made the US account the primary one?

Really, you’re making the PS5 the primary PS5 console of the account. You can have as many accounts on the PS5 “primary” as you like, although it’s not called that now, I think it’s called “offline play and game sharing” or something?

Yeah that's the step I missed. It's now console sharing rather than setting as home or primary console

On the US account...

Go to [Settings] > [Users and Accounts] > [Other] > [Console Sharing and Offline Play], and then select [Enable] to activate, or [Disable] to deactivate.

Cheers, all working now :)

They suggested setting my PS5 as primary, which it was but set it again, and all the PS4 stuff magically appeared again.

Bizarre.

Sounds like a 'restore licenses' issue to me. Possibly caused by multiple primary PS4 changes in the past.

n00b-ish question...

I bought God of War 2018 & HZD on my US account on my PS4 a while back. I've logged in to the US account on my PS5 and downloaded them then switched back to my UK account as that's the account I used to play them on my PS4 (and my saves are tied to that account) but it says I haven't purchased them? Have I missed something or is that now the case?

Have to say, I'm loving the controller. Not had much time to play stuff tonight due to work but the feedback when you stab something in Demon's Souls is excellent :)

Ended up doing the system transfer with the PS4 and worked fine, cheers :)

Ah nice, I think this is the best process if you don't have PS+ and an external drive for you PS4 games already.

I’ve only ever had one PS4, and why would that affect disc games?

Ah farey nuff ... just a weird glitch, because you are special ;) I feel slightly blessed at this point to have had a launch machine with zero issues (other than the. odd software/OS crash). Been using rest mode and an external HDD since day 1 too. Is it all working fine now though?

Seems to be, yes.

Can anyone recommend a budget friendly 27/28" monitor for the PS5. My son's one finally arrived and he wants to upgrade the cheapo 22" monitor he has to something a bit bigger.

Looking in the PC thread this one caught my eye

https://www.cclonline.com/product/iiyama-g-master-red-eagle-gaming-monitor-27-inch-2560-x-1440-qhd-tn-panel-amd-freesync-144hz-black-gb2760qsu-b1-234707/

But would that be okay or is there a better alternative, only looking to spend a max of £300 so it has to be at the budget end. He also uses it for PC gaming, the whole monitor specs thing is bewildering.

Thanks

FYI the PS5 won't do native 1440p it may upscale 1080 to 1440p though.

What are the big showcase games for this? Is there anything other than Miles Morales?

Demon’s Souls and Astrobot are the main ones.

Then you’ve got the cross gen multi-platform stuff. Control Ultimate Edition seems to be getting a lot of praise and is free on ps+ right now.

For backwards compatibility upgrades, there’s a few but Wipeout Omega Collection, God Of War and Days Gone all look really impressive.

Apart from Demon's Souls and Astrobot (which are the obvious others) I would also say that Sackboy is surprisingly good. Especially if you'd expect it to be a Little Big Planet floaty imprecise platformer.

It's still got that potentially irritating twee-ness about it, but it's a genuinely fun platformer with lots to do and some great levels. It's not Mario or anything, but it's a fun title, especially if you see it cheap.

I agree, Sackboy is great and I’d say even better when played local co-op with someone else. It’s a game that will definitely make you smile and some of the music levels are brilliant.

Yeah, it is a fantastic little game and the music is amazing.

The calypso flavoured instrumental cover of Depeche Mode's Just Can't Get Enough was brilliant, as was the underwater-y styled cover of that Madonna song. Also, Jungle Boogie!

After Demon's it's the best game on the PS5 for me.

I wasn’t a big fan of what I played of Destruction Allstars, but how it used the triggers has left me very excited about GT7.

I found DD to be too dull to play for than ten minutes or so but don't recall any especially exciting trigger action.

For some truly extraordinary haptic and rumble action you really need to try WRC 9.

I wouldn't even say Miles is that much of a PS5 showcase but that is mostly down to how good the PS4 predecessor looked. It's the game I most regret buying that's for sure as it is just more of the same, albeit a bit shinier, and it turns out I had already had my fill by playing half way through the first game a few years ago...

It seems to use them to give different resistance when starting up the car and revving up etc. Might not be spectacular to you but like I say it just made me look forward to GT7.

I love the triggers except for the loud click when the resistance motor clicks on / off. It's quite distracting.

The best use of haptics & triggers outside of Astrobot, I've found to be Control.

It's absolutely elevated the game with the different rumbles and feedback on which weapon you're using.

It's made me play the game better and more "correct" using the right weapon for the right situation, Halo style.

I no longer have to look at the UI to know when something is charge or when to fire it as it's all communicated via the haptics.

That BZZZZZT *click* when using Pierce is fantastic. It's really well implemented.

I got a PS5! Picking it up today.

Do I need to keep my PS4 Pro and up and running for any reason while I set up the PS5? I know Spider-man has that odd thing where you have to transfer the save file from your old console, but I'm not planning on getting Spider-man Remastered.

I told myself I'd hold off replaying Control until I'd cleared more of my backlog but God if it isn't tempting to go back just for the way it uses the pad.

Bugsnax uses the pad a decent amount too, hearing a "Bunger!" come out of the speaker when you catch one never gets old.

I love the rumble and feedback but I think the trigger stuff is shite so far.

Every game I have tried feels like it's a normal trigger to half way then it gets a bit tighter and clicks when you apply some pressure.

You really need to try WRC 9!

Wait, can the PS5 pad emulate the GameCube triggers?

Should be able to. It's usually used so you've got a "proper" trigger to pull against in shooters, could move the "bite point" right down like on the Cube pad.

Bungie desperately need to get on this with Destiny 2.
