Make sure there's not a duplicate game in both the internal and external drives. That's enough to deny access to the external drive. The PS5 warns about it, but I fast read the screen long message and, at first, didn't noticed the warning about not getting access to the external drive until the problem could be solved.

Interesting.

It's a PS4 copy of Immortals Fenyx Rising. So the disk is PS4 but there is a 20gb PS5 version on the internal SSD. It requires the disk to be in the drive to play the PS5 version of the game. Do you think the issue is that it sees the PS4 game on the disk as different to the PS5 game on the SSD? There's nothing to do with that game on the external HDD.

They need to address the issues when you have an external HDD connected. I avoided doing it until recently due to the reported issues but I have felt more or less forced into it when my "other" folder reached 100gb and i was running out of space generally.

Now it declares the disk in the drive is unreadable every time i power it on. I made the mistake of putting it in rest mode, this then caused it not to respond to my attempts to power it on with the dualsense. I had to use the button on the machine, when it had powered on it wouldn't recognise the dualsense whatsoever. I had to fully power it off to sort it.

These are all issues that appeared the moment i connected the same HDD i used with my PS4 without issue.

Getting pretty pissed off with all these daft issues.

That's really odd, I've been using a 4TB Seagate recommended by EG a while back initially on my PS4 Pro, then just plugged it into my PS5 with no issues, been using it since launch with rest mode.

Yeah the drive was working fine on my PS4. And as an actual storage device works fine on PS5. Just these weird secondary issues it seems to have caused.

Yeah but have you used it on the PS4 since? Just in case a dodgy USB port on the PS5 has cooked something.

No, I don't think so. In my case, it was the same PS4 game (Bioshock Infinite) in both drives.

Anyway, if you're not getting a warning a few seconds after getting to the dashboard, this is not the same problem.

No-one has hooked it up to an 8K TV yet!

It’s compatible with 8k tellies but can’t output in 8k yet, it’s going to be in one of the feature updates coming soon, well maybe not soon as they prolly need to get feature complete with ps4 before pointless resolution updates....

Its going to be the next update isn’t it!

Now that FOMO has forced me to buy I've finally managed to order one of these, where's the cheapest for a copy of Demon's Souls and PS+?

I haven't really been paying attention to the thread so this has probably been asked but can saves be transferred from a PS4? Or does PS+ manage that? Been a while since I even switched my PS4 on

For Saves - PS+ or USB - Or System Transfer, System transfer is the safest if you don't have PS+ atm.
