In the end both consoles have a lot of functionality to cram in. Never had any particular annoyances with either. Just accept them for what they are and their different approaches

To be fair there's a few people pointing some of the shortcomings of the launch OS/hardware.   I'm still gagging to get one but you have to admit it probably needed a little longer in the oven.

My other folder is nearly 90gig now.

 

I just wish they would explain it a little. If it “doesn’t matter” to the peasants then don’t report the number....but people will add things up and rightfully ask “where the hell is my drive space?”

Honestly, the PS5 is the worst launch console I have ever owned. 

 

Look, the PS5 UI is incredibly bad. But don't you dare compare it to the atrocity that is the Xbox UI.

(the Xbox One+ UI was absolutely awful - laggy to the point of being unpleasant, and with adverts taking up key space - up to and excluding the most recent version, which is actually excellent. The PS4 UI became solid over time, and was comfortably the best of its generation. To make up for this, the current PS5 UI is comfortably the worst of this cross-gen period, tied at the bottom with the Switch for functionality and customisability, but rendered more egregious by having a wider range of features and functionality to hide/break)

I get that the PS5 is lacking of some features, takes a few extra clicks than it needs to but it’s very smooth and fast and the PS store is integrated. I’m generally pretty happy with it.
 

I haven’t used an XBOX since the 360 but there’s no way MS have built a decent UI, I just don’t believe it ;).

The Xbox UI isn't as swish or attractive but it's a lot more customisable in terms of getting to what you want more quickly as well as appearance. And because they haven't thrown the baby out with the bathwater starting from scratch this gen it feels a lot more fully featured too. 

 

The PS5 UI currently feels like a Beta for something that might be excellent in a year or two.

Th xbox series x UI is fast as hell and if you want to do something like start a party, change settings, invite someone, adjust microphone levels, check friends, check achievements etc then its a one press of the guide button and a couple of presses to left or right. 

 

And my front page is set up so everything i want to play is just there. I can have sub section pins, a gamepass pin. I can basically make my own folders for whatever apps or games i want. 

 

Its just much simplier to use and takes far less time. Im still getting used to the PS5 ui but just trying to see who was in the GT Sport Monday night club party was a fucking nightmare, plus trying to invite some of those people to be a friend was another 5 button presses, its over complicated and over cluttered.

Nice,  very tempting. However, I've noticed with mine vertical with the sides facing outwards (towards the sofa) and the cable arse tucked slightly behind the TV it camouflages  itself perfectly against the white wall behind it. It almost become invisible... Stealth BEAST!

Yes indeed, Playing LoU2 in near silence is a joy, it looks pretty phenomenal already so I don't feel like I'm on a lest gen game... Everybodys Golf is better as it's now locked at 4K60. Will be playing Control tonight which I think counts as a PS5 game ;)

As a friendly nuchtere Dutch to another, I seriously recommend looking into the Series X UI before continuing to make this statement. You were right at some point, but now that statement hits like pliers on a pig.

Playing Sekiro at 60fps is great, and the always on HDR is actually making it look great I'm actually enjoying it this time.

I think all of the statements here about the UI, is the UI you are used too is usually your favoured UI.
