Are you using the USB cable it came with?

Yes, it's actually a Toshiba one not Samsung, which in terms of hard drives i'd maybe expect to be better.

What I have done today is change it to the other rear USB port and tested it connected to that one, and it's not errored through a couple of cycles of turning on and going to rest mode.  Meanwhile the port it was plugged into has worked fine for charging a controller (had problems using the front for that) suggesting the port itself isn't a problem.  All very strange but will see how it goes.

Posting it here as well. I need to make a dedicated thread for it.

I turned my PS5 on for the first time all week yesterday. I've been contemplating selling it due to one thing or another but then I saw this and it just looks "chef's kiss".

I got some real PN03 and even Vanquish vibes from it but with that awesome Resogun voxel twist.

Really want Ghost Of Tsushima, sort of holding off because I'm convinced that it will drop in price on PSN in the lead up to xmas? They usually do sales on big games from the last year at xmas don't they? Remember that 12 days of xmas thing they did a few years back? That was really smart, where for every 2 days from the start of December they did a big 2 days sale on one game. I really miss that, last year it was just a generic sale on a bunch of games.

My local Game have 2 Pulse headsets.

Wondering if they're worth it?

I was tempted to get a pair pre-launch but the Resetera official thread on them has been quite negative. I think unless you really want a pair of wireless earphones with a built-in mic then you're probably better off just spending the money on a decent pair of regular headphones.

Can't really do much about it if you dislike the way they are to hold, but FYI you can completely turn off the force feedback in the triggers if you don't want it in any games: Settings -> Accessories -> Controllers -> Trigger Effect Intensity -> Off.

yeah I’ve done that, but the DualShock 4 had less travel on the triggers and it’s just all round more comfortable and better to play with for sports or shooting games.

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, that's the downside of far-travelling, analogue triggers generally; I usually prefer them (because I like having a lot of granularity in e.g. driving games), but find them a pain in fighting games and the like; hopefully we'll get some decent alternatives for games that benefit from shorter/binary inputs.

Just had my first glitch with the PS5. First sign of anything dodgy in 3 weeks of heavy use.

Demon's Souls wouldn't load and just stayed on the initial splash screen. Tried no end of times but it just kept doing the same thing. Everything was still accessible on the machine though, could quit back to the home screen etc.

Loaded WRC9 up fine then, when I tried Demons Souls again it suddenly worked. Weird!

Returnal is £69.99.

I mean, if it's good - and it probably is - I'll happily pay that. I don't buy that many games and this looks quality and highly replayable too.

I do think Joe Public might have a different opinion because it doesn't look as AAA as something like God of War, so in terms of mass-market appeal I do think Sony should price it lower.

But day 1 for me, unless it reviews worse than I expect it will.

I hate the dualsense man, it’s so uncomfortable playing fifa or nba with it and the triggers are just an inconvenience in anything that isn’t astrobot.

I'm feeling that way, playing the xbox as well, the xbox controller does feel so much more comfortable!

It's honestly crazy, I hated the Xbox One pad all last gen compared to the Dualshock 4 but now it feels ridiculously comfortable compared to the Dualsense.

The angle of the arms isn't great for me.

Hard to describe but I'd prefer them to be a little more splayed as I'd be able to 'rest' my palm/inner thumb on them a little easier instead of feeling like I am pulling on the arms as I currently do. There is a bit more stress on the fingers gripping the arms than is comfortable.

No issue with the sticks, buttons, or triggers though.
