Question for you... what games you getting a 2nd controller for?

Curious if there's any games me and the mrs can play together but didn't really appear to be any so not sure about getting an extra controller. Ta

The controller from Smyths was an impulse order because they had it priced at £49.99 as opposed to £59.99. Having said that I am sure both of my girls will carry on enjoying Terraria, Minecraft & Fortnite. Me? I’m a lazy bugger and just like the convenience of having a 2nd controller fully charged.

What are the chances of any retailers shipping early given they have PS5s in stock and the machine out in other regions today??

Can always be hopeful!!!

Depends. If said retailer never, ever wants to sell Sony products again: yes, there is.

I've just checked my headset and the headband bit bit isn't as bad as I thought so I've just ordered a pair of replacement black pads on Prime for £10.

Should be here Friday and I'll pop them straight on and let you know how they are.

I did this a couple of months ago for the cups. They're noticeably less padded than the originals but still absolutely fine. I then did the same with my lad's white pair. Better than spending a pile of cash on another set.

Interesting article on Eurogamer about how WRC's next-gen update uses the Dual Sense:

Quote

The build-up of tire resistance is a more tangible thing - on tarmac the breaking of traction feels suitably rubbery given the purity of the contact there, while on gravel you'll feel that looser surface sliding under your fingertips too - in a pretty convincing approximation of the feeling you'd typically get through your bottom in a real car. The adaptive triggers also play their part - snatch a brake and you'll feel the wheel locking under your finger, and there's that extra resistance on the left trigger than there is on the right in deference to the feel of a real brake and throttle pedal.

That brake pedal can also seize up after you've punished the car a bit too much, as can the throttle - if your car's shagged, you'll feel it in the rumbles and groans of your pad as you nurse it home - and before you reached that point there are some enjoyable subtle signs of mechanical strain pushed through the DualSense. There are those exhaust pops and turbo flutters, but what I love are the little recurring knocks that subtly suggest something could go wrong if pushed too much further. He's very positive about it.

how and where? On the PS4 it doesn’t show up, and on the website when I click ‘download this months games’ it takes me to the games for September :/

You may need to edit the language-country code if it doesn't automagically switch. It doesn't show up under the Subscriptions tab (yet).

I'm still not a huge fan of the overall look of the PS5 (and I think it's going to feel massive), but when I see some shots of it like this with the LEDs glowing and general '2001: Space Odyssey' vibe going on, I do think it looks appropriately 'next-gen'...

It's still getting put in a cupboard though

Nah, still fugly.

Actually kind of annoyed that the indication LED is doubled and larger than with PS4. That's because I H*A*T*E those RGB case setups for PC with a passion and I'm really annoyed both MS and Sony want to move toward it ever so slightly.

I absolutely LOVE the look of the Digital PS5. It looks so sci-fi and ridiculous in the best possible way. Honestly, ranking right up there as one of the best looking consoles I've seen. Not yet in the flesh mind!

The Disc version kinda spoils the swoop unfortunately :( I really wish the drive slot was some how located in the black middle area, and it didn't have the lump.

Yeah, I've gone digital partly because I rarely buy physical and partly because it is a stunning piece of kit. I was going to hide it behind the TV (the only sensible place to put it, given its bulk) but my lad is insisting it comes out on parade somewhere instead. Wondering if I could use it as a coffee table, perhaps?
