PlayStation 5 - Next gen is expensive

This seems to be reviewing well, which is nice.

Given I don't have an active PS+ sub, am I right in thinking I should probably wait a few days for Black Friday, in the hopes that Sony do a sale on the price of a sub? I know they put it down to £38-odd a couple of times a year, but can't remember if one of those is Black Friday.

So he's got a brick then? All my PS4 games are on external storage, it'll be a faff arse if I need to DL them onto the console.

Nobody know's man, like he posted a single video where he says the PS5 review system he received has died and he can't release the content he's charged people for and he will refund if they contact him.

I think it might be a bit hyperbolic if the internet thinks plugging in external storage might kill your console due to one unclear incident - I'm sure it is what you're suggesting that he got a faulty console

Many outlets including DF used external storage without a reported issue

8.5, is GiaG normally generous when it comes to scores cos I'd pegged this as a high 7 at best. Happy to be wrong, with this and Sackboy hitting higher than expected we could be looking at the best launch line up of all time!

It seems to be a bit of an outlier from what I can tell. Sackboy on the other hand looks great, shame the online co-op will come later.
But yeah, the line-up in general looks excellent.

So, "His PS5 died and maybe it's external storage or not", that the gist?

Yes indeed, my generous 7 instinct seems to be true with a 64 average right now. Almost relieved that there's a game I don't need at launch!

Rescue Mission sequel on its way?
God, I hope so.

Probably not a bad idea to wait and see now but ShopTo do discounted PS+, £39.85 at the moment (assuming you need UK).

I'd hope so, though I can see them porting Rescue Mission to a non-VR PS5 version.

I'm not so sure - I don't think Rescue Mission would really work in non-VR. Some of the platforming would be frustratingly tough without depth perception whereas stuff like finding the chameleons would be mundane in 2D. The whole experience is built around VR.

has anyone heard anything or got a dispatch email about the camera adapter for PSVR/5 since requesting one? I was hoping they'd arrive by launch, still time of course.

Nope don't think we will be getting those before launch.

Wrong! It'd be awesome.

Hmmmm, this is why being a week away from launch might be better as there may be some hotfixes incoming. At least it's not smoking!

To be clear - I expect similar 'isolated' reports of failures on PS5 just like there were on PS4, PS3, 360, XBone etc...

Good demonstration of the venting. It’ll be interesting to see the airflow around the PS5: hopefully someone will use a coloured vape?

it could look quite cool with the right light effects.
