Terrifying BROKEN SKY

Whats the point in being a trolling idiot?

It’s clearly not as it should be therefore ‘broken’ and at no point have I or anyone suggested it affects the game in any other way but it’s been pointed out that other games could have issues that will be more of a problem.

The point that’s being made on the internet is that this is a game Sony picked for the PS+ collection so now there are  ‘concerns’ about other games esp when the embargo is still in place

I knew you were going to post about Blood & Wine. It's practically a trap for you.

It's pretty much a running joke now. :)  I care less about these days now that I can play on PC and mod that ghastly shit into oblivion. :)

From the Godfall review in progress at IGN:

As of right now, however, I’m enjoying Godfall, even if it’s not doing much to wow me and the repetition of its missions is wearing a bit thin. It’s got some fun and satisfying combat, a few genuinely novel mechanics, and graphics that range from absolutely gorgeous to a little over the top – but unless its thin story morphs into more than an excuse to go stab stuff, the grindable action-looter structure doesn't seem like it has enough variety to sustain its otherwise expansive customization.

So it is pretty much exactly what you thought when you clapped eyes on it.

There was a Eurogamer Valhalla video review the other day, and the tearing (from an Xbox, I think, but can't remember if it was old gen or new gen) was really evident. I'm surprised VRR doesn't seem to be in the PS5 at launch, given it's explicitly mentioned in the spec sheets they published. Presumably it's not long until it gets added.

Great first impressions for Sackboy:

I've only spent a day with Sackboy so far, and it's hard to think of a game that has delivered so much joy in such a short time. The platforming strikes that perfect balance between challenging and fun, using all sorts of ingenious tricks - motion control platforms, grappling hooks, herding small creatures, planting seeds - to keep things fresh. This is bumping up to the top of my PS5 must-play list alongside Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and it's hard to imagine how it could ruin it, beyond Sackboy suddenly declaring he's a Trump supporter. Keep an eye out for our full review once we've spent more time as a sweet little sackcloth boy in a tiger costume.

Geez, this PlayStation 5 launch lineup is getting ridiculous now. Like, we knew it was going to be good, but every single game we play seems to defy expectations. With whimsical platformer Sackboy: A Big Adventure, we were anticipating something light: a bright and breezy co-op romp to break up the bloodshed of Demon’s Souls. Well, it’s that and so much more.

We’re only a couple of worlds in, but we haven’t smiled this much since, well, when we played Astro’s Playroom about 10 days ago. Sony’s on fire, eh? No but seriously, with Media Molecule moving on to Dreams, we thought LittleBigPlanet had been put out to pasture. And it has – in a way. See, this has all of the charm of the Guildford developer’s PlayStation 3 classic, but it’s been given a Super Mario 3D World makeover.

The result is remarkable. Not only does this game look the part – it’s running at a flawless 60 frames-per-second, with razor-sharp textures and even some raytracing – but it’s just a joy to play. Where the old LittleBigPlanet games were criticised for their floaty platforming, Sackboy is much more responsive here, with a Luigi-esque double-jump and a Metroid-inspired roll ability.

I'll take a pinch of salt on Push Square's liking for it, but if it is indeed decent (and the platforming in LBP has always been "divisive" to say the least) the launch line-up for PS5 really starts to look very solid.

This could make use of the second controller I got in my Game bundle for no apparent reason, just figured a second controller would be a good idea, then discovered there weren't that many two player games!

I'm not sure how reliable God is a Geek is, but they seem to love Godfall. :o

Which leaves Godfall in a strange spot. It has brilliant combat and stunning visuals, but under the hood it’s still “one of those” games. It doesn’t thrust multiplayer upon you, saving that for the end-game, and it feels like a solo adventure for large parts of the game. It won’t be for everyone, yet I found myself dying to go back every time I stopped. The combat is just so good, and the draw of smashing enemies with such thunderous force was always compelling. Yes, under it all it’s a grind-based loot game, but it’s a very good one and makes so few of the missteps its contemporaries mate. Out of the box this game doesn’t need major loot overhauls, or huge redesigns: it’s not ashamed of what it is, and it does what it intends very well, and because of all of that, it’s one of the biggest surprises of the year.

8.5, is GiaG normally generous when it comes to scores cos I'd pegged this as a high 7 at best. Happy to be wrong, with this and Sackboy hitting higher than expected we could be looking at the best launch line up of all time!

Lol - I'm good.

On a positive note I think this will be the first console launch where I have so much good stuff to play day one.

On the native PS5 side - have Demon's Souls/Astrobot and Spiderman MM ( with Remastered SM with either RT of 60fps )- and Bugsnax via PSplus lol

Then BC PS4 has - Ghosts of Tsushima with 60fps and Days Gone/God of War via the PS plus thing at 60fps also

NICE

Can you not just post why? I don't want to spend five seconds listening to someone called Angry Centaur Gaming, never mind five minutes.

He doesn't actually say, he said there were issues with his external storage and that Sony were really good trying to help him with it, but then it died, no explanation beyond that.

I did, I said be careful when using an external drive.

Within the first 60 seconds he mentions issues relating to an external drive caused his PS5 to die.

Hmmmm, this is why being a week away from launch might be better as there may be some hotfixes incoming. At least it's not smoking!

To be clear - I expect similar 'isolated' reports of failures on PS5 just like there were on PS4, PS3, 360, XBone etc...

So what am I meant to do to avoid this? Just not use external storage at all?

Is what happens when I click on the download link... guess it's not quite there yet ;)

Hey, I just said the page was live.

Honestly I didn't even try the link, as I'm guessing there will be another firmware update before my console arrives. Hopefully that's on the 19th, although given Amazon's performance yesterday I'm less than confident.

Apparantly it's an issue if you try to just put the console into rest mode while games are running, exit the game back to dash and then go into rest mode and it's fine.

So what is it that causes the console to die then? I'd rather not have a £450 abstract sculpture in my TV cabinet.
