So annoying that this is 3 days away from launch in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada etc, and we have to wait another 10 days.

We'll get lots of early impressions but also the inevitable videos of "it's loud, PS5 is D000med"  for faulty units etc

Expecting the same for Xbox Series S/X

Incidentally anyone buying two PS5's to keep?    I want to know how the save sync works with one account on two ps5's

I don't think they do dude, I think it's the same as PS4 in that you can upload manually, or on your primary console it will upload automatically, but i dont think it will automatically pull it down if you play on the non primary etc or even on the primary if you switch console activation and start the game, it's just not as clever as MS' implementation for Xbox.

Good to know that Dolby Vision isn't worth it and neither is VRR.  Suspend Resume is old hat too.

Christ.  It's ok to say it's shit that those features are missing and still believe the Ps5 is a great machine with kickass games. The level of "yeah I don't use that feature anyway and I don't understand why anyone else would" or "no one will notice the difference" posts is funny af.

I think it's more like it's not something to get 'genuinely concerned' about ;)

You're misrepresenting that interaction because of your own well-established bias, of course. :)

I will have both consoles and I won't be watching DV material through either, but the point remains that the vast majority of people will neither be able to tell the difference nor have their telly set up to appreciate the difference.

VRR and Suspend Resume are a different matter.

Really hoping either my late Game order comes through in a sensible amount of time or I can find an online order on launch day.

My interest levels have gone through the roof the past couple of weeks. It’s pure FOMO but I won’t let that slow me down.

*Wiper quietly, sadly places his OLED55BX in the bin*

Seriously though, that's very disappointing. Gsync with my monitor has been revelatory, and I finally bit the bullet on a new TV this year because the combination of 4k, OLED and VRR was so compelling, and had just reached affordable for me. Feels like I should have waited a year :/

Same boat. Cock it.

Surely VRR and Dolby Vision can be patched in later?

Don't know why people are expecting the world from launch firmware.

VRR will be but DV won’t as there is a fee to be paid, Sony won’t pay it and unlikely to pass the cost onto end users esp as they already released the media remote!

I liked Astrobot more than Mario Odyssey.

That's because it's the better game. I said way back when it came out, if Astrobot VR were a Nintendo game the entire planet would be losing its shit.

The great PS3 vs. X360 console wars of 2008 was long and bloody, with Chase wildly trolling the forum and JPickford wanting to ban soong for his incessant PS3 posting...If I recall correctly. This one is merely a small skirmish in comparison.

You've forgotten Ramone smashing them all with his Wii support.

Has anyone seen any details of how Horizon Zero Dawn is performing on the PS5?

I've watched 3 BC videos now and have seen lots of segments of Days Gone, Tomb Raider, Sekiro, etc... but literally nothing about HZD (is it locked 30?). I'm surprised it isn't getting the polish patch like some of the other titles given its status and Sony leaning heavily on Forbidden West in the run up to this.

I enquire purely selfishly as I have it sat waiting to play on launch day :D

I've been sort of assuming most of the Sony games on the Collection (with the exception of Bloodborne - maybe I should rephrase as properly 1st party or something) were going to get some sort of PS5 patch. I think Days Gone and GoW did? But maybe they're not. Would be nice to see that list of games loading quick and having stable frame rates. Especially if they tweaked that Last Guardian patch.

Wait a second, I've just realised something. They've released a "PS5 Remote Play" app that lets you stream games from your PS5 to your PS4. And they've confirmed that the Dual Sense controller doesn't work on PS4. Does that mean you have to use a Dual Shock 4 to play PS5 games on PS4, while you're forbidden from using the same pad on a PS5?
