This seems like a miles better solution than wraps or waiting for 3rd party bingowings. It's not like it'd be hard to buy replacements if you wanted to sell/trade it later.

Heads up for everyone living in the Netherlands reading this - I'm saying there's a chance. CoolBlue didn't do pre-orders. Both the XsX and PS5 will go on sale the day before their respective launch dates, if you're quick enough to bag one you receive it the next day. They note supply is extremely limited so check their website for the exact time and be ready to F5.

 

I realize this doesn't help my forum friends in the UK, but since we have a surprising amount of undercover Dutchies on this forum and UK folk living here, I thought it would be a nice heads up.

Ok, it's happened.  John Lewis and Currys have the CX 77" for £3,499.  My resistance lasted approximately 30 seconds.

 

Anyone want a C8 77"? :lol:

True, but worth a shot nonetheless. I have a few friends who missed out. Also, Dutchland is Sonyland so based on nothing but a gut feeling the XsX will be an easier get.

My TV was nearly 3 grand....when it was released.
Got it for £900.

Oh wow, that's properly got me teetering!  I'm seriously finding it hard to pull the trigger. The bigger size is the upgrade that would make a new tv more worthwhile......

Finding it hard to spend the spondoolies when I've bought/am buying a shit ton of tech lately.

Maybe if my old house sale completes soon it'll give me more incentive to splash the moolah.

Pre-ordered Miles Morales for my PS5 digital. Went PS4 so the lad can still play it on his soon to be inherited PS4 slim. I will take the free upgrade thanks

 

Also pre-ordered Demon's Souls. No real reason to except I was there so might as well.

 

Excitement engaged!

 

I'll leave it at that. Day 1 Astro Bots, MM, Demon's Souls and a free 4k upgrade for No Man's Sky? That's a console launch I am getting excited for.

@teddymeow you got any update on your Smyths order?

 

My order is still not showing up and I've received no further emails since my pre-order confirmation. Never used Smyths before, poor online set-up will stick to Shopto/Amazon only going forward.

Yet I have an email from Smyths saying I have a pre-order & I have asked their chat quite a few times who have confirmed my pre-order is valid. Guess will have to wait and see what happens.

Is it possible it's not linked to the account you're logging in as?

Had it before when somethings ended up being checked out as a guest and not via my site login (not with smyths admittedly, but might explain the discrepancy)

Yeah I had this issue with Game, my order is not linked to my account at all - but they did confirm my order at least. Shame Smyths are leaving you in the dark. Did you belt & braces on preorders or just belt?

I have my main order with Amazon the Smyths order is my backup just in case.

Good man, belt and braces is the only way to be sure ;) In my defence I only ordered one off Amazon as well because my Game preorder had not appeared to go through and it took Game a while to let me know it had actually gone through. Still not 100% sure I'll turn up at my local Game and walk away with my preorder but time will tell.

Shopto would have been my first choice but alas thier allocation was not enough for me to get offered a machine.

Sorry, just in from work so am able to reply.

 

All my Smyth's pre-orders are showing in my account (PS5 Disc, PS5 Digital, Spidey, Demon's, Sackboy) and are listed as "in progress".

 

I had an email the other day talking about click and collect pick-ups during lockdown but nothing further.

 

When I contacted them about whether I had a machine for launch I got a seemingly standard response of "you will receive an email / tact when your order is ready for pick up".

 

My thinking is that they didn't go gung-ho on pre-orders like, say, ShopTo, so I'm hopeful seeing as I pre-ordered minutes after they went live.
