IGC is what they call the free games. It's the same thing as a "normal" PS+ addition.

I think it's safe to assume it's a two-month window to claim it, as that's how Plus has always operated. They're also refunding people that have bought it, which would be a bit odd if it were just a time-limited trial.

 

Absolutely the right move for the game, which I maintain looks like good fun. Given it's a PS5-only, multiplayer-focussed launch title I was baffled by it releasing at full price, whereas now it's guaranteed a decent shot at a healthy player base.

I think it’s the latter - I wonder if it’s  a nod to the fact that a LOT of people may not be getting their hands on a PS5 until after Christmas?

It's one of the PS+ games for February and March which is probably marking the first PS5 game to be put on the service.

I thought that was the name for a collection of games they had during the PS3 CC screw-up and now PS5 launch. Sony channels seem to call the monthly titles simply "free games". If the monthly games are called IGC, then blimey, they've been hiding that term a bit... :blink:

It does mean the PS5 with a PS+ Sub is a very attractive proposition, you now get the Instant Game Collection & Destruction Allstars for £360 or £450 depending on whether you go disc or digital, certainly a move Sony have made to counter gamepass.

Yes I would say the perfect counter to gamepass, a service full of third party quality and with every first party Microsoft title launching day on date on it, is a service with some old PS4 games and a delayed game that swings between looking dull and shit in equal measure that isn't launching until February. 

 

Why can't it just be a nice PS+ freebie? Why has everything got to be a competition?

I normally claimed the games through the website and it was clear enough there. Maybe not via the console itself? Seems to be gone on the new version of the website though.

The days of selling a multiplayer game for full retail price are long gone.

Rocket league wouldn’t be where it is now without ps plus.

Cod and other game like that are the exception because of their legacy, the community will be there whatever happens.

 

Its great news because I wasn’t going to buy it.

What are these Microsoft titles launching day and date on XSX then? :sherlock: and I don't know whether your inner fanboy couldn't resist feverishly responding so you just decided not to read my post properly, but I didn't say it's good competition for Gamepass, I said I'm sure that with the Instant Game Collection & Now this, it's a move Sony have decided to take in an attempt to counter the pull of Gamepass.

why so defensive? Isn’t it true that because gamepass is supposed to be so good is the reason that Sony have to give away nice looking freebies so they themselves don’t look like complete dorks? Competition (except in public utilities) makes everything better

I'm getting a Playstation 5 on launch! And not an Xbox! There doesn't have to be a big fanboy conspiracy for your posts to be shit. Seriously are you proud of the playground bullshit above? I just don't see the offerings (Gamepass vs Destruction/PS4 games) as even vaguely comparable and thought it was a bit of a weird point.

Not that I recall. The base version came to PSPlus about the same time the bikes DLC came out though.

well yes clearly you proved that, utter drivel, at no point did I say anything negative about Gamepass, and the IGC is very comparable as it’s only BC  games at the moment.
