It’s being used on a telly that no longer supports the Netflix app, something that seems common with quite a few apps. Not looking forward to the day the decide not to support PS3 anymore and I’m stuck with Cash in the Attic and Emmerdale on Terrestrial.

But yeah, it’s fucking slow and the Store is even slower.

If the PS3 being slow does bother you at all, assuming it's got an HDMI in, something like a cheap Fire stick or Roku might be an idea.

Ubisoft has  removed the info about PS5 not supporting PS1-PS3 from its article. :sherlock:

Probably because Sony are asking developers/publishers to not talk about BC unless pre-approved by their account managers. Even putting something like "Added PS5 compatibility" or "Fixed issue with PS5 compatability" in your update notes will see you failing Certification. :blah:

They even give you a canned message that you should use in response to people asking about it;

If you are asked about backwards compatibility prior to SIE’s public update on backwards compatibility, feel free to use the following statement. You can also direct media inquiries to SIE PR. “We don’t have any announcements to make at this time.”

I think I'll just put the Pro in the bedroom along with my backward compatible PS3. Then I have the option to not play those old games like I do with my PS3.

Saying that, I have recently started 3D Dot Heroes for the 10th time and do the odd run across the bridge at the start of DeS NG+.

Totally worth the space it takes up.

Well at least we know there will be a public update at some point then.

Nah, all we know is that Sony are telling devs not to speak about it until SIE do. Which might be never :P

It's not *not* backward compatible if SIE haven't announced it's not.

I thought the haptic thing was bullshit but then my phone ran out of batteries for the first time and I realised the home button isn't actually a button at all and it's just been using vibrations to pretend to move all this time. What other shit haven't they been telling me??

Also I want to see a big fuckoff robot Brontosaurus stepping on people in Horizon One Dawn

Best thing about this is the info that Harry 'Nex Machina' Krueger is directing Returnal. This is now definitely my most wanted PS5 game.

Bethesda really do like taking the piss with Skyrim. If it does get ported expect it to have the same old shitty 256px textures (stretched up to 512px though!) and rancid bugs.

4K resolution and maybe a 'console first' 60fps.

lol. :/

Even Bethesda aren't shameless enough to release the same old barely enhanced game yet again with the same old bugs and call it Skyrim: Specialer Special 4k Edition or something, so they won't do that.

They'll call it Elder Scrolls VI instead.

Isn't GTA V free on PSV?

GTA online will be, but the implication is the full "expanded & enhanced" game including the single player will need to be purchased.  If the PS4 version works on PS5, though, and everyone has the multiplayer PS5 version for free, they're going to have to offer a signficant expansion and enhancement to the single player mode to make it a worthwhile purchase...

After seeing last night's showing from nVidia, the next gen consoles are now pretty much dead to me on the excitement front, and I'm all aboard the PC hype train.

Seeing that ray-traced marbles tech demo (yeah, I know, not a game) and the full RTX version of Cyberpunk 2077, however briefly, has properly got me excited (compounded by a powerful need to play Flight Sim at the quality that God intended). And there's nothing I've seen yet on PS5 from a shinies perspective that looks anywhere nearly as 'next gen'. I also doubt the eventual reveal of the PS5 release date and price etc. will come remotely close to eliciting the same "Fuck me!" nVidia earned when they revealed the £649 cost of the RT 3080.

Come on Sony, FFS, please blow me away and justify my day one purchase. Or I'm deffo out at launch for the very first time on any Playstation console.

Got to say, and a week ago I wouldn’t have even considered this, I think I’m going the same way too.
