nowhere near as interesting as destiny, mikey!

How many x presses for a devastating and eviscerating attack?

This looks so shit.

if you press x four times, then Y, you amazingly get a heavy finisher!

Definitely not, but it’s cute that they tried, with the Engrams pick ups and the Dreaming City if imagined by a serial hoarder.

A good four or five things I actually want to play there, rather than 'ehhh it's on GP anyway so I'll give it a go'. I literally can't remember anything from the earlier Sony presentation or the Nintendo Micro Direct so that automatically makes it the gaming PR highlight of the year.

Hitman VR both makes me wonder how the hell it’ll fit on a PS4 at an appropriate framerate and resolution, wonder whether it’ll actually be a fun way of playing it at all, and wonder whether it might be the killer app (sorry) for the PS5. I mean, it really could be - those environments in VR at a supersampled resolution and high framerate?

The framerate in the demo there was alarmingly uneven and low for a VR game.

Control AWE was the highlight for me. 3 weeks to go!

The rest ranges between boring to somewhat interesting but nothing to write home about. Interesting that there were at least 2 BotW-inspired games... and no I’m not talking about Horizon Forbidden West, you cheeky scamps!

A lot of gloomy swords and sorcery bobbins. Not for me, babe!

Edit - the Darth Vader VR game looked kinda cool though.

it didn’t really go down well on PC outside of Star Wars nuts, but was split up into episodes. Suspect squadrons will hit the itch more.

It's quite possible that Godfall is a decent game, but that wasn't the way to show it.

The above aside, lot of cool things in that presentation. The Pathless stood out to me because it's vaguely reminiscent of the movement in Galleon, a game I haven't thought about in a long time; in reality I suppose it's more akin to Shadow of the Colossus.

Maybe think twice if you liked the look of Aeon Must Die.

Edit: As for the State of Play, I'm in for more Spelunky and probably Hitman VR as well.

Is Aeon still a supermarket chain in Japan? Might have to rename it Tesco must Suffer or something over there.

Godfall doesn’t do anything for me at all, but it did at least look slightly better than the previous showings...from a performance point of view. Design-wise it’s a pretty hideous looking thing.

The constant slight pause on some but not every hit really annoyed me. Made it look like it was dropping frames and stuttering when it wasn't.

Seemed an odd design choice that broke the fluidity.

It's a weird one - It does look pretty from a technical perspective, but ugly from a design perspective.
