PlayStation 5 - Next gen is expensive

I watched it and nerdly made notes on my notepad to one side :D

I won't bore you all - so my top games were

Stray - robot world looked amazing fun

Returnal (shite name but looked like a good game) - Like the concept

Sackboy Big Adventure - you can fucking sue me as I love LBP and I love Sumo Digital :D

Jett the Far Shore looked fantastic

Little Devil inside - art style to die for

Deathloop - this won me over during the trailer very nice indeed

Resi 8 - Yes please!

Everything else not my cup of tea in general. Also not too happy at lack of 2020 dates shown - Spiderman, jett the Far Shore, Godfall are the only ones with definitive 2020 labels.

Console reveal? It's not as bad as the sliding top ps3. Interesting that it has a digital version - looks like both big platforms are trying to eke out value and provide a "cheaper" option.

Also looks like the console might be a bit on the massive side as well.

Might be more sensible to compare controller sizes because you have no way of knowing if there's any leeway on those slots.

It’s a shame we didn’t get a couple of actual game play breaks to show the play through of a level.

All these cinematic trailers look like the pre-rendered ones we have seen a million times on current gen consoles (and are meaningless to me atleast).

The only snatches of next gen feels i got was when you could see a game actually being played.

So is the new Spider Man game going to be a fully fledged game?, I'd imagine it has to be as it's a PS5 game so can't be some small off-shoot of the PS4 game. Will have to get my arse in gear and crack on with the PS4 game. That's after I wrap up the surprisingly brilliant Days Gone.

All I've seen games wise is the Souls trailer which looked OK.

But, having now  seen the machine I am unsure if I will be playing it as that is one hideous looking piece of consumer electronics. Was there any indication that it might be available in black and that it can lay on it's side as there is no way I am standing that monstrosity anywhere near my TV.

Quite a few of the games looked pretty good, at least what was shown that wasnt a cutscene rather than gameplay. I didnt know what was the premise of a lot of them, but this was obviously just a teaser more than anything.

Console looks daft, but as long as it doesnt fall over, explode, or heat my room while I'm playing I dont really care that much.

This is why we need negs back asap.

LOL. Rachet looked good though.

GT Sport and Horizon looked to be the only exclusives worth anything to me. The rest i could give or take.

how much cheaper i wonder would the drive-less one be?  60 quid?

Probably be £100 cheaper, as they know they're going to get all your cash and not have to share it with Bricks n Mortar stores.

Oh... @Number 28 beat me to it !

Then you pay it back with the first three games you download very slowly from the PSN store.

No need to be like that :)   most games just need the disc to bypass security then they are a coaster.  ok you can swap them i suppose.

I agree with you. I'd much rather go digital, my problem is the price is at least a tenner more.
