Was looking forward to watching the Gran Turismo vid in 4k 60.

I did. Wasn't impressed. Tons of pop in. And not a major leap. But I'm guessing it's only 20% complete and not due until 2024 going by the Devs history.

2024 will be for GT 7 Prologue

Who really cares what a console looks like? There's always someone ready to declare it ugly.

Unless it’s in brushed stainless steel , nothing under the telly looks great

I think discs should be an afterthought at this stage . The design should be compromised for discs ;  not the other way round

I don't.

Digital is usually more expensive and you can't trade it in.

Will game shops want to sell the digital version? What was the situation with the digital Xbox?

They make an okay margin on the physical cards I think? All the kids are buying vbucks for their fortnight shins or something these days.

Hmm. That wasn't too bad, although my predictions spreadsheet is currently a sea of incorrect guesses!

GT looked like a prettier Sport but that's about it, Project Athia looked different but didn't reveal a lot, Housemarque's Returnal will surely be decent, the Sackboy game looks too Astro Bot to me (and Astro is returning anyway... ) Ghostwire needs a bit more explanation for me to get onboard :P - likewise, Solar Ash looked pretty but the trailer ended before anything interesting happened. Deathloop looked okay, and I have no real attachment to Resi, Horizon or DeS.

It definitely had something for everyone though, and I'd like to find out more about Athia and Returnal at least.

A true reflection of next-gen will be in the other games that come out, that aren't Sony exclusives

I'm guessing then that Resident Evil Village (if that is what its called) is only coming out on PS5?

I found the presentation overal very average, but then for the most part I'm really just not interested in action adventure games with big stories, cutscenes, and dialogue. I can't believe how little detail about the actual machine was given.

What would have sold it for me:

Demon Souls - thats a given

Ridge Racer of anything

Cave shooters, all of them

Some OutRun and blue skies

What I got:

Loads of pre-rendered stuff, with sweat

Cat game looked OK, as did the Little Devil

Could not tell the difference between Gran Turismo now and 7

Lots of games taking place in green forests, usually on a hilltop

I do! Don't get me wrong, I will be getting a PS5 day one (the GTA Online upgrades alone sell it to me as that is my favourite game) but when the OG PS4 looked so good it is a bit of a shame that the 5 couldn't follow suit. I much prefer the physical look of the new Xbox One X thing.
