I'm actually quite excited for this. Really want to see a price.

I have basically ignored PS4 this generation (only finished and enjoyed Spiderman then sold the console) so I will be getting a PS5 for definite on launch this time.

I’m still under the impression that we’ll just see games and nothing whatsoever about what the console looks like, nor the price.

Would be daft not to show the design in the least (not that I care what it looks like). Just need to wait and see.

I'm hoping it's Bluetooth compatible with other controllers. I hate the sticks on PS controllers and really struggle with them.

Yeah, my thumbs slide off those damn things constantly. Awful design as far as I’m concerned.

Price and hardware (aside from controller) won't happen

This will prob be games and likely some dev speak about how awesome it all is - is the info true that this will be a 1080p/30 stream due to home working? Completely understandable but gutting for devs to have their first low be a lower res/bitrate and framerate stream oof

Yes, but 4K vids will be available afterwards.

Get those plastic covers for the stick, well worth the few quid.

I've tried to! It's just when I search for them on Amazon my brain goes to mush with all the many (many, many, oh so very many) different types.

I then swear a bit and do something else ;)

Pop by your local GameStop (and buy at a premium). I'm sure CEX sells em as well, heck even Poundland surely.

Don't bother with the expensive nonsense KontrolFreek shite that sells for 20 quid, just buy the most bog standard ones. I think I paid like maybe 7 quid for a set of 6 (3 pair in different colours).

edit: this seems perfectly fine: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fosmon-Technology-A1668-Silicone-Thumb/dp/B016YQRYSY/ref=sr_1_13?crid=2BPZM40ON8132&dchild=1&keywords=dualshock+4+stick+grips&qid=1591799451&sprefix=dual+shock+4+stick%2Caps%2C138&sr=8-13

Dumb question because I'm absolutely not an audio guy, but haven't MS already been doing simulated 3D positional audio for stereo headphones this whole gen? You even have the choice between their own driver and the Dolby Atmos one in the settings.

There might be a 1.65TB model though. It's close.

I don't think you've really appreciated how expensive that 825GB SSD is likely to be. I don't think there's any suggestion they're going to add a double-sized model anywhere near launch.

I'm trying to keep my expectations reigned in. What do people think we'll see? There will be a generous helping of remasters to bolster the lineup I reckon.

I predict:

Horizon zero dawn remastered  (likely)

Horizon zero dawn 2 (likely)

Resident Evil 8 (possible)

Bloodborne remastered (possible)

Demons souls remake (likely)

I don't think we'll see the console and think there's zero chance of a price announcement. I will be amazed if they launch at anything less than $499.

I'd add Spiderman 2 to that list.

I think we'll get a big demo of the PS5 port of TLoU 2 using 3D audio. The game's already playable (including all side-content) without visuals, it'd be a great show-off moment for the technology.

Then something whimsical to show off the new force feedback. Or probably just a racing game TBH.

Then some sort of multiplayer FPS to show off the mic system in the pad. Or maybe a party game to stress that the mic system can pick out different speakers in the same room.

A big open-world game of some sort. Everyone's saying Spider-Man 2, I think if they're going to have anything ready for launch it'll be a PS5 port of Spider-Man 1 with some new DLC side-story available from the beginning of the game that shows off the fast streaming.

Probably a roll-call of current-generation ports. Not as many remasters as people are expecting because that's not exactly going to bring the hype and it's become the internet's go-to for silly but plausible software rumours.

And some big new IP that in the grand scheme will turn out not to have been worth the excitement everyone invests in it during the presentation.

Subjectivity coming through, but Remasters at launch (window) can sod right off.* I have no interest in old wine in a new bag at a console launch.*

*Unless it's Ridge Racers Remastered.

I'm expecting a big reveal of Horizon Zero Dawn 2, plus whatever the ports of TLOU2 and Ghost of Tsushima look like. Something that will show off the 3D audio. I guess the big From remake, whichever of Bloodborne and Demon's Souls it ends up being.

Funny, I'd rather see a DS remake than Horizon , Spiderman or GOW sequels. I just don't want to play any more open world stuff right now - it bores me rigid. I also want to see RE 8 with VR mode confirmed. Either or both of those and I'm a happy camper.

I think we might possibly get teased on Kojima's next thing as well.

If they show remasters of current gen titles I'll be surprised and sorely disappointed. This event is supposed to raise some hype right? How much hype is it going to raise when they say, "Hey kids, here's a slightly shinier version of that game you like. Can we have 600 quid of your money now?".
