Anyone care to speculate on what games we will see on the 4th June?

Bluepoint's Demon's Souls is probably a lock, given that they were mentioned in the Wired article and Schreier basically confirmed its existence on ResetEra.

Silent Hill if the rumours are true, given that its a legendary IP.

Housemarque's new AAA game.

Horizon 2, because GG is probably furthest along out of all their big studios and it's the sequel to a massive hit and critically acclaimed game. It'll also be a technical powerhouse no doubt.

Spider-Man 2, because the first game was massive and it will sell consoles.

Maybe GT, as racing games are always showcases, though I personally don't care for them.

Maybe God of War 2, though it seems a little early. One could say the same about Spider-Man, but Insomniac is an incredibly efficient studio so I find that one more likely

Some third-party games.

Man, that would be a killer launch line up.

I’m counting on a 50% port, 25% remaster, 20% franchise, 5% new IP ratio.

New IP will happen, but probably further down the road. As far as first-parties are concerned that is. Sony had a massive gen. Last gen they didn't have a single 10 million plus seller, now they have at least five (jury is still out on Ghost) and two hover around the 20 million mark. They're gonna capitalise on that.

New third-party IP will be plentiful though.

In darker, scarier moments I sometimes have nightmares that the reason we've only seen the joypad is because that's all there is and that everything's going to be streamed.

The day when the major companies do this is the day I cry 1st world tears.

I would have thought whatever the separate Last of Us 2 multiplayer thing is will be out on PS5 for launch.

I also think they’ll be doing something funky with Dreams. Maybe it’ll be a few pack-in or a new amped up version. If only because the way they rolled it out on PS4 felt more like a beta for something further down the line.

Mad that the likes of Cyberpunk and Dying Light 2 are effectively going to be launch titles for these two new systems - these are definitely going to have better starts than their predecessors.

The Last of Us Factions will probably be launch window, but I don't think it'll be a launch game, unless it's been in development for quite some time.

Apparently many people expect Ratchet & Clank, which does make sense as a more colourful, family-friendly title.

I agree that Dreams would make a good bundle game.

I thought it was shaped like that to emphasise that it didn't have previous generation hardware lurking around in there in the "bottom", this is the preceding slide:

Is that the footprint of the console then?

I know, hence the "can't see it happening though" comment. It's just wishful thinking, a bit like the Ridge Racer comments in here.

I'd love to think they'd have a AAA launch game, but didn't they waste a couple of years chasing cash cows before giving up?

Don't get me wrong, I love their work - Resogun is my most played PS4 game but it's a big ask for any dev team to go from arcade style to full on AAA. Good luck to them though

Not sure if it's a launch game, though it wouldn't surprise me.

They've been working on it for three years now apparently.
