Possibly I guess, I’m back on throttle by the apex. There’s definitely some good time to be gained in doing this corner into Shell right, when I moved from the mid 1.35s it was mostly through this section I think.

it’s the two chicanes where I never quite feel like I’m spot on still, going in too fast or squirrelly oversteer on the exits.

Pretty pleased that my first attempt at a home server has resulted in a few days of keeping both an AC and ACC server alive without any sort of dropouts or need for manual restarts etc.  Not too shabby.  I think I'll cancel the ACC server hosting now.

I want to change car back to the McLaren. I don’t really enjoy the Bentley and setting it up for driving is a chore. I never actually want to get in and practice.

And it doesn’t feel like I am taking up the whole track with the car size

I wanted to change last week but stuck with it to give it one more try

Is this okay?

Have any of you done much setup work for Oulton Park? I tried a few things from a base of the Aggressive preset but honestly most of them seemed to make things worse and had to be undone. I think the only one that stuck was dropping the rear end a few mm. Tried upping the wing (only one click left to go anyway) and it made it too understeery. Tried giving the bump stops more range, that didn't seem to help much at all. I'm never sure if it's not that I just drove badly after a change :)

I always wonder if I should be messing with the toe out and those other values on the wheels page.

In the Bentleyfor the limited time I tried it, it was all about softening the springs. My logic was 1 it’s bumpy, and 2 more weight transfer to try and get more bite on turn in.

*shrug* not sure if correct - it’s hard to say how much is the platform and how much is learning the track.

I don't change much, just default aggressive (with changes to TC, ABS and brake ducts).  I'm still not perceptive enough to understand what the car is doing to know what I should change to improve things.

I left TC and ABS on Aggressive defaults so far.

No. Actually for this one I've not even selected on of the presets! I entered the server and started driving straight away and it felt great so I only adjusted my tyre pressures and TC/ABS settings, nothing else. Seems like it's competitive with a mere 1 second off Erik's time.

Meers’ purchasing of McLaren things has gotten a little out-of-hand as this picture, taken outside his actual house (background) shows:

Kiro, what did I tell you about not posting personal information of people on the forum!!!

Seriously though, the other cars are @davejm's, @milko's and @winky's who visited me for my birthday last weekend as part of the Macca Club.

I think I'm about 1 s off "competitive" times and 2 s off good quali times myself. I raised the car and made it softer, max wing, but it just doesnt want to stick in T1 or T3. Despite the ground clearance I cant touch kerbs in either of the chicanes. Theres something fundamentally wrong in car and/or driving...

If anyone's around tonight, I'm doing some Raceroom; specifically Boonatix Nordschleife VLN Community Tour...

https://beta.simracing.gp/communities/GFLYlFJNKaHOdRk6bCg2i#events

I might also do some ranked racing at some stage.  There is a Cupra TCR Zandvoort rookie server that I might dip into.

mmm.. this Boonatix event starts at 6:30pm UK time.  Gonna be tight.  Will try :)

I'm wondering if I should buy this now for the PS4 at £20 - or wait for the PS5 version at £30 - which includes something called the "2020 GT World Challenge Pack DLC" - if that is worth it?

(I've understood that PS4 owners will get a free update to the PS5 version next year)

Just to check something - should I be setting my wheel rotation to 900’?

Also:

Hmm. What is it with YouTube links not embedding atm?

Yeah set it to 900, on PC it'll adjust the lock automatically depending on car

Feeling more comfortable around Oulton Park.  Had a couple of shitty sessions, but a really good one just now.

I can't get close to my fastest lap in the Ferrari (low 1:34), but I've been concentrating on race fuel practice and managed to get into the low 1:36s with a pretty full tank.

Much more confident about Thursday now.  Just need to keep dipping in with some practice this week so I don't forget some of the track nuances that I've discovered (the bumps are a killer in the Macca!).
