Thanks Dave. I've received the invite but the only option in the email was to view the community. I can't see any option to join it, or any pending invitations.

You'll only be able to accept the invite if you're registered an account with simracing.gp, once you do that you can go to 'Notifications' and then accept.

The low resolution sucks not sure what you are using but combinations of low in game resolution scale and oculus tray tool super sampling can improve clarity a bit. I also had to fiddle with an ini file to move the in game HUD back a bit so it was easier to see in the cockpit.

I eventually found out that you can use CTRL+ left/right to move the hud forward and backwards, and CTRL+SHIFT+ left/right to scale it up and down.

I registered yesterday, which is double weird. I'm logged in, can see my info but no notifications etc.

well if there's some coaching chat to be had I'll be well up for it, spending about 15 minutes with Sharky onboard watching my inept attempts at Silverstone did me a lot of good last year so anything more will be helpful for sure :)

Been playing around with SGP and have loaded the events in... (whether we decide to stick with it or not!)... it's sooo easy!! :)

I created separate sprint and endurance championships (its the only way to have different scoring for each event type); so you should be able to register for each league now which adds you to the entry list for all the events within it.  The events then get added to your 'My Events' page...

Love the enthusiasm to learn 🤓😄 I am quite flexible this weekend so feel free to shoot me a message

@davejm Looks really nice. Seems to look a lot easier for an organizer. I think the only downside is that simracing.gp currently don't offer the practice server option which is really nice to have. I am signed up in an RCI league on simracing.gp and they currently can't host practice servers on there yet. So not sure if that would mean double payment to have race and practice servers 🤔

Yeah it all seems very nice - is that letting you set up the weather and time multiplier stuff easily too? If we can solve that practice server bit it seems more or less a no-brainer.

Yep, it lets me do everything that is possible by editing the JSON files.

Regarding coaching, you could always do what I do from time to time in the Gran Turismo thread. Record yourself on a stint (ideally a long one), crop out your fastest lap and post the video. Then the quicker guys can give you pointers at their leisure.

For me, for example, it turns out one element of my lack of pace is all about using more of the width of the track so I can straighten the car out and get back on the power sooner on corner exits.

(In turn there are issues around visibility and camera choice. Everything is connected.)

I did a bit of offline practice around Silverstone yesterday, I was struggling to get the front tires into a good working state. The tires get into the mid to high 26psi but the graphic still shows the tires as a bit cold and the centre bar not flush with the outer bars. I looked at the ACC wiki setup guide and it mentions both the brake or increasing the toe value for cold tires, is there a general consensus on which is a better setting to adjust. My worry is overheating the brakes over a race if I decrease them.

As long as the brakes never go yellow or orange at any point you are good. Warm brakes wear quicker but pad 2 will still last 12 hours or close if it stays green and never turns blueish. If you have motec, see that brake temps after some laps never go above 750 or so degrees.

I know there's no scheduled race tonight, but is anyone interested, about and/or able to set the server up with something?  I'd happily do an AC race instead if that appeals?  The idea of mini's amused me from before...

I'd defo be up for this, is it a bit short notice for everyone though?  I'd suggest maybe trying some different cars on tracks we already know; the minis would be amazing at Oulton Park or Brands, for example.

Edit - Meers and I were actually supposed to sort out some racing for this week, which we've both spectacularly failed to do!!  What's everyone up for?

I've had a look at the server and it looks as though ACC is the only option, so minis might be out of the question unfortunately.

The idea was for you to use simracing.gp which allows for the different games.  I sent you an invite so if you accept it I'll add you as an admin.

The emperor server (which you are an admin of) is the one we've been using which we'll ultimately ditch if we adopt simracing.gp moving forward.  This is the one currently setup with the looping practice session.

Ah, sorry Dave!  Got the wrong end of the stick there.  Will that invite have gone to my email address?
