Assetto Corsa Competizione | Season 14 Round 3 | GT3 Sprint @ Valencia

Liking this track, might need to lift the bumpstops a bit. I noticed in Dave's lap, he doesn't seem to have the same amount of banging and crashing I get on the agricultural track surface.

And @milko you have some way to go to beat my inconsistency !

Now now, fellas - I said I might! Plus you all seem to be super quick these days while I reckon my pace has stood still. But it would be nice to race around new(ish) track.

Wow, great! Time to pick the 488 now! :eyebrows:

Which wheel did you use before again?

...a Logitech G29 :eyebrows:

It's the load cell T-LCM pedals coming to go with the wheel.  Hopefully it will all make for a noticeable upgrade!

That's a great upgrade. The load cell brake pedal is the most important part of my set. It makes all the difference.

I've been eyeing up T-LCM all week too. Don't suppose you found a bargain by any chance?

Sadly not - they were £189 everywhere I looked - and just finding both in stock was a challenge.

Lockdown seems to have sent not only Xboxes/PS5's and PC gfx cards into price orbit, but also sim racing equipment.  I was looking on Ebay at the price I might get for my G29 and shifter - £180 looks about what they're going for.  I paid less than that new, 4 years ago.  Madness.

Anyhow - will be interesting to see, once I've fiddled and tweaked the new gear, if my times change at all in ACC.   Hopefully they go down

Oulton Park is fun in VR! :)

I'm at the 1:35.8xx point, so that'll have to do - the car felt good at least, definitely more time in it. Be nice to race with you guys again tomorrow.

Yes mate!!! Awesome.  It's definitely a great track in VR due to the bumps, which made me a little sick when I first got the DLC (I was still finding my VR legs at that point).

My new wheel has just arrived!  Sadly the pedals don't arrive until Sunday, so I dont think I'll be using this for tomorrow's sesh...

my T-LCM are arriving Sunday, ffs. That's more than I paid for the damn wheel, T3PA pedals and stand! Haha, this fucking game.

Clocked in a 1:34.3 offline and strung a few laps together though, so I totally deserve it, right?

It's amazing how close the times actually are.  When you're lapping or racing half a second seems like a long time, but if you think about how that translates on track it's all very close.  And then if you look at the sector splits it just shows even more how close we all are.

It's getting there! I still don't feel like I know the difference between doing a first sector like that and one that's 0.5s slower other than seeing the clock, I can't go "oh I missed that line or braking point by a few feet" or anything. It's almost all feel and instinct and just putting in laps until I get one right. @mrben09 was right about raising the bump stops a bit, I moved my front ones up by three and things feel a little less chaotic in the bumpy stuff which is mostly the first sector and last corner for me.

Hey, tonight it looks like I might be 10-15 minutes late, which probably means missing qualification given I usually only get in by the skin of my teeth anyway. If it doesn't mess anyone up could we run the session a little bit later? If it screws up anyone else though obviously don't wait for me. And even if I make a start from the back of the grid it's better than nothing.

I know @Meers is already an hour later than us thanks to the wonders of a spherical planet and timezones, so let us know if it is bad for you to be any later, mate?

Not neccesarily bad, unless it's a whole hour later. So half an hour later or something at the most shouldn't be an issue for me. I will be a bit of an afterparty pooper though and leave for bed right after the race, and the spreadsheet will have to wait until the morning (I am in office tomorrow so I'll get right to it first thing).

Gives me also a bit of time to get on after bringing the kids to bed and cleaning up.

In other news...

I am very tempted to get the Fanatec McLaren GT3 V2 rim. Thing is, I don't really need it (my P1 rim works perfectly fine) so I'm very much in two minds. But it's so nice.
