Yup, 8 could work for me. I'll get discord sorted but I might not be able to be on audio coms tonight. I plugged my headset into my PC but I couldn't get it working (the PC is new and I built it so I probably messed something up).

@Meers you must fix your priorities! Washing machines and children's beds and stuff come after simrigs.

 

@mexos not sure if you've seen Simracing.gp yet, it's how we organise our events and lets us set up a server. I have copy-pasted some instructions that Dave wrote:

When you want to join the race server (usually takes a couple of minutes after the nominal start time) it'll be in the server browser if you search rllmuk and look for 8D2I4 - don't join the practice one by mistake!

What issues did you have with your VR Hat @mexos? (official term here) There are a few of us with Quest 2s.

 

Pro tip - make sure your room has the light on when starting a race as when it gets dark the headset can't see and it'll lose tracking. Not much of an issue at this time of year, but it's easy to get caught out. Apparently.

It was a bit buggy and crashed. Will give it another try.

in electronics set TC1 to 2 and TC2 to 8. ABS to whatever you like between 2 and 5. Tune brake bias until you like how car behaves when trail braking

 

I gave this a handful laps. Definitely low 58 or better in it with max fuel and off window pressures. Stiffen rear arb some more

Also I've done the mandatory tyre change instead of refuelling, so we can't all just try and do a splash 'n dash. Enforced 30s breather! @mexos you will want to set your tyre change pressures before the race to match the ones you've decided you like in practice/quali, most probably. It's in the setup pages.

I sent him my setup with the tyre pressures which should be dialled in for the config you've set 👍

I booted into the game, set a single player session, set base ambient the same as the server (20c) and with the 1pm start that translates to a 23c ambient in game 😄.  Then adjusted one I had saved.  It won't be exact, but not far off.
