Well done @EuroVapeSim2 on the win and pole position; and @Valver for fastest lap :)

I'm amazed I managed to pull off fastest lap!  That time is waaay faster than anything I'd managed in practice or qually - and I did it with about 40l of fuel on board. 🤔

Gutted for @mrben09  He had a great start to the race - overtook @Meers and then a lap or two later mugged me as I tried to avoid hitting @milko who was going wide in an incident of his own making.  It was going so well for Ben, and then (as the replay shows) he just sailed away into the sky as he lost connection 😩  I hope you had a good swear and a beer.  Sadly neither my highlight reel nor my race footage has the move you made on me (which was cracking!).  The auto-highlights didn't choose it, and the race reel only saves the last 40 minutes - so missed the start.  Sorry.

I battled on and off with @milko and we swapped positions once or twice.  That was until I pitted, and decided to request new tyres - and while fiddling with the MFD to request +0.6 PSI per corner I sped in the pitlane and earned a 30 second stop go.  Balls.  I lost my lead over him and was clawing it back quick quickly towards the end of the race as he also had damage.   I finished 25 secs behind @milko - so if I hadn't ballsed up my pitstop I could've had another place.

Enjoyed our little tussle, @Valver. What happened when I passed you in the first place, you seemed to go slow through that fast left hander? For a while then I'd pull out a gap on you, then lose it again at Spoon, every time! Eventually I cocked up and had to do 50s of pitstop to fix the resulting aero... Was hoping something would get me back into contention but hadn't expected the pitlane penalty! Late in the race when you were catching me back up a bit I was just knackered, kept running wide in silly places.

I think with another week practice and not feeling under the weather with whatever cold/covid I've got, I could get quite competitive on this track!

I found the setup of the Aston (default Aggressive) to be very tail happy.  If I got greedy on the throttle I could get quite an impressive slide going.  That left hander (Dunlop?), the exit of the hairpin and Spoon, were all corners that if I wasn't patient I pished away masses of time with wheelspin, rear end slide and then having to get off/on the throttle to regain traction.  I think when you sailed past me at Dunlop I was busy having a fast and the furious "Tokyo drift" moment 🤡

I caught you a few laps later doing a similar epic showy drift out of Spoon!

I took so many lines and techniques through Spoon, all of them incredibly shit but that one you mention at least had some style points!

Would be fun to play a sim this good where drifting through corners was a valid method.

That was good fun, but I was too tired last night. Nice to see @SharkyOB back even if he was filling my rear view mirror 😛 harassing me!

practice and qualifying were fine then once the race started I seemed to forget every braking point. That, my eyes being tired and the low sun meant I was all over the place. I could not get through spoon at all - and I had practiced a full fuel load.

But it was a fun race - I might switch back to VR as I think it actually might be easier on my eyes.

I should have a replay of the full race, if so I will upload the start, as a tribute to @mrben09 and his computer woes.

Thanks @winky!  It was really fun racing with you and @EuroVapeSim2.  Just a shame I had that weird incident through 130R, as I might have been challenging for the win otherwise.

I really enjoyed last night and I'm hoping I'll be able to race a bit more regularly.  I bloody love the GT-R after racing other cars for a bit, defo sticking with it going forward.

I'm super chuffed with last night's race, I really don't know where I found the time in qualifying, I was struggling to break the 2.03 barrier in practice so was very surprised to get pole. Starting from the front is really nerve wracking especially when you have @SneakyNinja and @SharkyOB right in your bumper and they were both faster than me. I was consistenly making a couple small mistakes in the hairpin and spoon which allowed both past in spoon on different occasions as I went wide, I just kept my head down after that and managed to keep my pace in the mid to high 2.04s for the rest of the race, pitted right at the end and to my surprise came out 13 seconds ahead of SneakyNinja. Knowing it would transition to night I over inflated my tyres a bit, they were about 28.1 for the first few laps but by the end they were still 27.2/27.4, only after the pitting on the penultimate lap did they drop below 27 so I think that gave me the edge and stopped my pace from dropping off, there still was some slower laps towards the end as it started to feel like an ice rink here and there especially at 130r I went really wide about 5 laps in a row.

Yeah the 130r was unfortunate, you're pace looked really strong up to then. It looked like a great drift from my angle and looked like you really clattered the wall as I went past. The GT-R is probably my favorite looking car but I didn't enjoy seeing the front in the rear view camera, watching you pull away down the main straight as I was right in your slipstream was something else, I've not driven it yet, might have ti give it a try on an break week.

Shall we set the practice server to Misano (next week's LFM circuit) and do a couple of their races next Thursday for our break week?  Those that want a break can do so, but otherwise we could dip into a couple of their sprint races?

Sounds like I need to get into this LFM thing.. I've signed up, do I just need to get some races under my belt to increase my rank? Do we have a team on there?

I'm up for it, I only drove misano when we raced there last and I really enjoyed it. Also a very technical track in places. Maybe I'll give the GT-R a shot.

Great idea, would miss having some practice and races next week.

Thanks again for setting up a new event for me. And thanks to everyone else for swapping sever. 😊
