Although I've got all the official DLC installed, just wouldn't want to force it on others.

I think it'd be reasonable to use DLC though, it's dirt cheap and it includes stuff like the Nordschliefe.  I'd avoid mods initially but some of the tracks are so good it would be criminal not to use them, some of the laser scanned ACC tracks are even starting to appear as mods now.

At those prices it's a steal indeed. I wasn't aware they were discounted that much.

As @Meers piped up first and requested a specific track & car combo, his wish is my command! :)

I've created two events:-

image.png.5861ed5a8bf70ae5ba9de13c7d9d83b4.png

'Cruising @ Nordschleife' is a practice session only event with full choice of all cars supported by the platform.  The event page displays which DLC pack a car is in, and lists all the car mods with download links.  I've set this event to run at 7:30pm for an hour; which can hopefully give people a chance to configure Assetto Corsa and get ready for the race event coming later.

The 'Tatuus FA01 Open Challenge @ Vallelunga' features a 15 minute practice, 15 minute qualifying and a 30 minute race.

@SharkyOB If you want to turn that first event into an actual race, feel free.  You're an admin on SGP so you have the power ;)

Might be worth taking the discussion over to the Assetto Cora thread at this point.  We can help out with some info about content manager and getting things set up.  I need to take a look at it all myself actually... I've only ever played AC in single player.

:hug:Cheers David! That car-track combo works really well and I'm curious what you guys think of it (if you haven't already sampled it, that is).

I'll have a look at AC again to see if I need to update stuff (highly likely) over the weekend.

I think I've over-complicated matters by including all the available cars for the Nordschleife event.  If people choose mod cars, I assume everyone then needs to manually download them.   I might keep it more simple for now and just include the base game + DLC cars.

Gonna take part in these events, I think.  I can give my knees a rest over the coming week.  If I choose a slow car I won't need to brake on the Nordschleife; and the Tatuus cars are high downforce and don't need to brake anyway... amirite?! :D

Looking forward Tatuulunga race. Good choice

I understand mods add complexity but for the next special event consider this track and maybe car.

I have to test it offline asap (when I have my gout flare sorted out)

Single track and car mod combos are fine, because there would only be a couple of download links to worry about.  It only adds too much complexity when I add every available mod to the event :D

They brake with the slightest pressure on the pedal, if I remember correctly. Very easy to drive as well.

OT again, but about your knee - and this may sound obvious, but I've been there so take it from me - keep a close eye on it and go to your GP if the pain stays and ask (or demand) that they send you to a specialist. My GP was hesitant to send me on because he firmly believed my knee wasn't broken despite it wobbling everywhere (looooong story that, I'll bore you with the full details another day if you want). I demanded to be sent on and glad I did.

Knees need to be taken good care of. Such underrated joints!

@davejm about your knee, is it pressing or holding above the pedal that hurts? For me its the latter. So when its stressed by simracing I can walk, run and cycle no problem but holding the leg lifted up before braking is what hurts.

Thanks mate, yep I'll take that onboard and definitely go to the GP if they don't get better soon.  Gonna do what I can to make improvements myself first (change pedal position, stretching & strength exercises etc).  So I'll see how that goes.

I don't feel much discomfort or pain when in the rig.  And when I'm racing I totally forget about it; it's when moving around the house, doing day to day tasks that it feels sore.

Yes of course, give it some rest first indeed. Maybe apply some Voltaren on it, or a hot wet rag. Or a cat, they're warm too.

I feel that we need a dedicated thread for this 'injuries that restrict your sim-racing'.

Is it your whole leg or your knee also?

Next time you eat roast chicken eat all the cartilage you can until your other half and family look at you like you have lost the plot.

They say glucosamine in tablet don't get properly absorbed  Apparently in pods with liquid Inside is better.

Its just the knee fortunately and its definitely muscles only. BMW has pretty heavy ffb and centering force and the wheel needs to be turned a lot, it made me also start to feel my left wrist. I lowered ffb gain and steering ratio which helped a lot
