Anyone watched The Dropout yet?

Yeah various thoughts earlier in the thread when it came out.

Its a great piece of TV with an outstanding performance from the lead but don’t expect it to tell you too much about the story which is already well known (it finishes before the the conclusion of the trial).

I know he's hardly flavour of the month/year/decade but I'm enjoying Save our Squad with David Beckham.

It's more Jossy's Giants than Sunderland Till I Die but if you're like me and a sucker for football docs then this is well worth a watch.

Maybe I've just been burned by things in the past that made it hard to cancel once you'd signed up. Netflix and Amazon Prime are a doddle (and then with Amazon at least, you get offers for free periods to resub, which is nice).

It is just as easy to cancel with Disney+ as it is with netflix; I have subbed and cancelled three times iirc.  As with other services can keep on using D+ until what would have been your next payment date too so you can always just cancel immediately and then keep on using it til the end of the period you paid for.

Also they do occasionally send offers to get you back.  Think I initially paid for 2 or 3 months after a free trial and since then have had 1 month for £2 (great) and 20% off 1 month (not great) offers come through plus maybe one or two more that I can't remember.  There is also usually a good offer for a cheap month around the Disney+ day period that can be used with any lapsed or new subscription.

That's great thanks. Have signed up. The ability to cancel easily is such a great feature, and seems to be becoming more common. I seem to recall people being driven insane trying to escape from Xbox Live back in the day, and I've had a few subs that required more work to get out than I'd like (I am very lazy, mind). Will give it a couple of months of thrashing, and then unsubscribe, fishing for a discount for a rejoin later.

Watched the first two episodes of National Treasure last night.

As a massive fan of the first two (both very much guilty pleasures, especially the first) the series so far is OK.

I'm intrigued where the story is going (a few twists and turns), the cast seems okay but i do wish we just got a new movie instead.

If anyone is planning on watching the fully restored version of Muppet Christmas Carol, don’t do what I did & presume pressing play would start the movie - it’s still the edited version by default!!

You need to go into Extras & it’s the third option in there. Almost as baffling decision to do this as it was to cut the song originally.

Nearly turned it off in Keitel’s opening scene. Then the flashback scene was really cheap looking and a bit naff.

Trying to stick with it, but the exposition and very mediocre acting are killing me.

Think this is going to join Willow on my Disney minus list.

Found this completely unwatchable, didn't make it through the first episode. Appalling script, wooden actint and it's all just so cheap-looking.

And without wishing to be ageist Keitel's opening scene made me feel incredibly sad. He didn't look or sound like he knew what he was reading.

Really enjoyed The Dropout. I imagine if you know already know the details of the Theranos story it might not be all that gripping but to an ignoramus like me it was hugely entertaining.

Yeah, Seyfried is excellent and can't help but love Stephen Fry
