Finished the base game - absolutely loved it, and TBH I can't quite understand the criticism of the story?  Thought it was absolutely fine - certainly no big drop off from previous instalments IMO.  Although I did miss Handsome Jack.

If the DLC is indeed better than the main game, I'm in for a treat as I've all that to get on with now!

I loved the main story too - doing a new play through in 120fps and it great!

I've been replaying as Moze recently as I'd only played the Casino DLC at the time.

Love, Guns & Tentacles, Bounty of Blood and the Kreig DLC were all fantastic, highly recommended. Now I'm playing about in Mayhem mode, which gets comically hard quite quickly.

I'd forgotten about the

Spoiler

To Be Continued in 4.....3, 2, 1

teaser in the main story. That's genius.

Hopefully #4 will be announced at E3..

Just finished another run through this as Moze (first time player as her, amazing) and went straight into TVHM and playing with the Mayhem modifiers. Going back in with a massively levelled Iron Cub (prefer that to piloting the mech) and an anointed Breath Of The Dying which is stacking splash damage into the hundreds of thousands with its AOE is really something to behold. It just looks magnificent on the Series X. Beautiful and rock solid.

Easily a top five of all time game for me. I don't even mind the characters and writing any more, playing it so much has made me warm to even the most annoying characters and even gets the occasional laugh out of me.

Feels like we don't get games as generous, slick and well designed any more.

@Uncle Nasty I played through as Moze. She’s a death machine and so much fun. Iron Bear is a great last resort and can really turn the tide of any battle if summoned at the right time. Sentry mode with the dome shield saved my arse so often.

Great thing about Moze is every weapon you like the look of seems viable and fun, her damage output is just so high. Usually I'd stick to a particular manufacturer or look out for certain weapon types but with Moze, anything turns into a killing machine. Have to be careful not to walk into the splash damage but that makes the combat more tactical - with Breath Of The Dying I try to get up high and rain death down below me rather than just strafing everything. The AOE on that rifle is unreal and decimates mobs.

Just pushed the Mayhem level to 5 and rolled a modifier that speeds up movement when you get a kill. Got about five Second Winds in the space of a minute from my own splash damage. Faster than Quake.

Edit: Only 18 pages for this thread and I hardly ever see the game mentioned. I get that the writing turns people off but the game is sublime.

I had no major problems with the writing at all and it is bloody fantastic. DLC was a huge step up in story and atmosphere — The Heist and Love, Guns & Tentacles especially.

I agree with the comments that the DLC is better than the main game. Everything was just so imaginative and fun.

Only slight downer for me was the audio mix - through speakers the balance was totally off, had to set it to mono. Apart from that, technically I still think it looks astounding.
