Wow that sounds amazing. Do Terraonion have a good reputation?

Their first revisions of their Neo Geo SD & PC Engine SSD3 where apparently a bit problematic but they got a lot of help from the community to fix these issues and all the revisions and the new Mega SD are top notch.

I own a Mega SD and it’s amazing. I’m also always waiting on a restock of the PC Engine SSD3 as it sells out all the time. If I had a NEO GEO I’d defo want the new version of their SD drive as it supports NG CD games too.

I’ve bought one of these MODE drives. I’m a fan of what they do. I’d like two for My Saturn & Dreamcast, but I can prob just swap when needed.

I just have to decide which of my two amazingly refurb by @Jei Saturn’s do I want to remove the drive from.. Kinda neither because they work so good :/

Yea, I’ve got the Mega SD and the SSDS3 and think they’re both really good.

One thing I find surprising is that they’ve stated 100% games compatibility. I mean say 99% just in case there’s the odd glitch on some obscure Japanese title. To to say 100% is pretty confident.

Pretty cool to have so many options for the Saturn though.

I guess since it's just spoofing the CD drive read it 'should' be fine, I was surprised to see it boasting faster loading too on top of 100% support.

Super excited for this but will wait for impressions before I commit.

Can always supply you a third without a drive :)

Have you got any refurbed Saturns for sale without a drive? Yes, I've ordered one of these "Mode" ODE. My old UK modded Mk1 isn't in the best shape & probably needs a recap (as well a friend as doing a bit of a crap job on installing one of those PSU replacements in terms of the wiring). Are you in a position to sell a refurb, or carry out a refurb on my original machine once this corona-lockdown is over?

You could try the RAD 2X if you wanted something cheaper.

It'll only do 480p but it'll still work good.

i was looking at that as well, but I also need something for Neo Geo CD and PlayStation plus maybe PC engine in the future so an OSSC might be the better option.

No, I bought it for £3 back in the day and completed it then. Sold it for £45. You don't want to know how much this new copy cost me

I did something similar which is one of my biggest gaming regrets as its one of my favourite games of all time, it will be one of the first games I’ll be playing as soon as I get a MODE and a Saturn setup. No way I can afford to buy an original copy.

Bought a white Saturn today in preparation :D

Nice, I've owned a This Is Cool Saturn for about 15 years which I bought with 28 shooters including Radiant, Tiger Heli 2, Twinkle Star Sprites, Hyper Duel and countless other big hitters for £500. About a year ago @Jei turned it into a SUPER DUPER This Is Cool Saturn and I've not regretted it at all.

Looks like Terraonion is entering the Saturn/Dreamcast drive emulator game. Apparently this works with Saturn AND Dreamcast and has 100% compatibility.

There's also a Fenrir ODE which sounds pretty good.

Finally replaced my broken Saturn which meant I could try the Retro-Bit wireless Saturn pad I've had sat here for ages. Plugged it in for a game of Batsugun and ... eesh it's horrible. I'm not particularly good at perceiving lag, but this is bananas. Luckily, after a quick google, I found they'd improved latency with a firmware update. After updating it's now spot on.

tl;dr - if you have a Saturn Retro-Bit wireless pad and haven't updated the firmware on it, then do, because it's lag city otherwise.

Bluetooth or 2.4ghz? I've got the latter and not noticed any lag

Hi folks.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but before I start selling my Saturn collection (such that it is), I was wondering if you guys could give me a rough indication of value for the 21 games I have?  Most of them have instruction manuals and most cases vary between okay and pretty decent.  There might be one that's a bit tatty or one that's in really good condition.  Hopefully the photo will show you that though.

I suspect a lot of them are the £10 on eBay types but I also suspect that a few might go for £20 or even £40 plus.

Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I'd like to sell them on here to a good home in one lot ideally (I know I could probably get more money if I split them out).

Thanks. :hat:

Has anyone tried the new hack / mod for Castlevania Symphony of the Night that utilises the 4mb RAM cart to speed up load times / smooth out animations etc?

https://www.retrorgb.com/new-saturn-castlevania-sotn-improvement-hack-utilizes-the-4mb-ram-cart-for-fast-loading-smoother-animations-and-more.html

I gave it a shot. Loading times are acceptable, but my only previous experience with SotN is the X360 version. Still, it’s nice to be playing it on a CRT with my favourite controller.

I don't know if it's acceptable to mention something you're selling in here (I kinda did already a couple of posts up) but I've just created a 'For Sale' item in the Trading folder:

I'd love these games to go to a welcoming home so please do feel like you can make me an offer.  If there's no interest after a while I'll probably split them and sell them individually.

I spent a fair bit of time taking photos of each game and scouring eBay for a realistic/fair price for each so hopefully I'm not too far from a fair asking price.

If this isn't good form, then please just let me know and I'll delete it.

Dear Sega Saturn enthusiasts...

i have some Saturn questions, can you help me out?

Will a Japanese memory addition work on a pal Saturn, and vice versa?

is it worth getting my pal Saturn modded to 50/60 all region, or just buying a pre modded one?

what happens when you run a pal game at 60, does it give problems/ audio too fast etc?

i take it the ossc is the best way to connect to a HDMI tv?

could anyone suggest the best / their favorite 2d games for the console?

thanks :P
